i don't think its true. i think there is a difference between not getting rings but beating boston, and not beating boston at all. they would have at least several years after this year, and beating boston, their arch nemesis, would be a first step

Everyone seems to be caught up in this Perkins ordeal. When Boston won in 2008, did they have Perkins? Absolutely not, KG started at Center, with the same big three, and came out on top. Wade has horrid games against boston simply because Ray Allen is one of the best SG defenders in the league. Boston wins games 1,3,4,6.

You must be blinded by all the hype. Miami has absolutely no chance keeping up with the celtics. Rondo will make half that team irrelevant. KG will make bosh a spectator in that game, and Wade will be too caught up with Allen (He always does poorly against the celtics).

I LOVE hearing the "too old" argument. Ray Allen and KG are better conditioned than 90% of the league. The only guys really slowed down by their age are Pierce and Shaq. Pierce has never been fast, always relied on his strength and shooting skill. Who else is old? Jermaine O'Neal? He missed most of the year to rest, he looks great right now.

And the Cs don't need Perkins for any team other than the Lakers and Magic. What Heat big man can dominate Jermaine?? The answer is none of them

KG was and is the anchor, not Perk. Perk was a great defender and offensive liability. Jermaine is a more athletic, less intimidating version of Kendrick. Bosh won't be able to get to the rim often against KG, Wade will have his hands full with RayRay, and Lebron will have to deal with the D collapsing on him hard in the paint, whether its Jermaine, KG, Green, whoever.

If the Heat had a dominant inside presence, Perk's absence would be huge. They don't though
