Why can't it be that Portland was making the plays instead of Dallas failing. Wallace and Camby were very aggressive on the offensive glass and that allowed them Blazers to keep their momentum. I had a significant amount of money on the Mavs tonight and was not concerned for one second because I knew Dallas would close it out, whether it was a 20 point win or a 2 point win. Dallas can't beat LA. Simple as that. LA won't be able to effectively guard the Mavs if Peja/Terry/Barea are all hitting their shots on the same night, but that's asking a lot of them with the likes of Barnes and Artest guarding them. The Lakers interior presence is going to be too much for the Mavs to penetrate consistently. You don't win a conference semifinal on jumpshots.Originally posted by No coincidences

Dallas was up a ton and thank goodness for portland to play the fast break game in the 4th to forces dallas to continue to play.
