I'm trying to figure out why the Knicks would be a play tonight
59% of the public is on the NY ML and 73% on spread. Why? Is Billups playing and I don't know about it? Are there just that many Knick backers in the public? I see zero advantage and no angles to being on NY tonight.

Check my spreadsheet for winners in the Knicks game. Have many plays on them in this matchup

Knicks had their chance in Game 1, I doubt they win outright. The Line seems right on to me, as I get Celts -7, so pass for me.

Knicks will be OK without Chauncey. Toney Douglas will give them the scoring they need. The more I think about this game the more I like the Knicks. Boston is not right nocoin.

It's just knee jerk reaction from the first game. Knicks could have won outright, now they are getting more points than they were in the first game.

I feel like it's this way because some are expecting the Knicks to run and push the pace since Billups is probably out.

The reason the line hasn't moved is because there is usually big money on NY from bettors in NY since they have some of the biggest bettors in the US. A lot of people might think that NY should have won last game so getting +7/6.5 is a gift.
Billups if out is a big deal. Everyone thinks Douglas is just going to start and fit right in immediately. It doesn't work like that. Usually bench sparks struggle when sprung into the starting line up. Also with douglas starting the Knicks really have zero bench offense. Neither Carter, Jeffries or Walker are going to get you double figures. Maybeee Shawne Williams does but it's somewhat of a stretch as he averages 7ppg.

And Boston doesn't have a substantial base of bettors as well?... Come on...

You act like Douglas has never started a game for this team all year. He averaged nearly 28min a game this season and the Knicks were 4-2 without Chauncey during the season with Douglas at PG. Whose scoring for the Celtics bench tonight?? Knicks bench killed Boston last game

What makes you think the Cs bench will underperform again? Jeff Green, Nenad Krstic, and Arroyo were all starters on top 4 seeds earlier this year, and all are off the bench now... the Cs bench can score. Big Baby's offense has been bad lately, which is hurting the bench's numbers

Unpredictable. I don't like it when the public is on the dog. Low-scoring type games which I'm thinking will happen again tonight play right into the Celtics hands. I'd stay away.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but while Douglas can score, he can't hold a handle to Billups as a distributor and facilitator of the offense.

That's what I'm thinking -- two powerful cities for gambling.
It'll be interesting to see what the line does before tip.

public view:
1. Muchmore New york better then boston when it comes to betting NBA, and people outside of boston or NY like Melo and hate old people. True story
2. With knicks losing a close one, they view is well they should've won that grabbing points here is the way to go as they are furious and looking for a revenge after that match.
3. Also most are probably thinking if melo didn't get into foul trouble early, they would've had a bigger lead and would've had the game before half time was over. As much as people think this. That's not true. There's no guarantee knicks would've scored more with melo on the floor. If anything melo could've taken 20 shots and missed them all and knicks could've been down more.

Boston swept season series, but looking at the scores, it tells why people are on the knicks:
average margin of victory was 6.5 points for the Celtics.
They won the opening game by 2 points, in a game that many of us would argue the Knicks should have won. I think the line is exactly where it should be......the o/u I think is a bit off for tonight's game.....I'd bet both teams hit 100 tonight.
LETS GO KNICKS!

Knicks were 4-2 in games Chauncey didn't play and also won @ Philadelphia when he was injured about halfway through the game. I've always liked Billups a lot but personally I think he's really lost a step and I think Douglas will bring some energy that is well-fitted to their styled.

Best to wait and "live bet" this one. Each team will go on a run and you should be able to get a better line then the current one.
