The idea of Bulls as champs
Has a 22-year-old star and a rookie head coach ever won an NBA title? Either separate or together?

NBA is a "pay your dues" league -- guys like Rose and Thibodeau usually have to wait in line. I liked the Bulls to get to the Finals and possibly win it vs. the Thunder, but I'm starting to have second thoughts.

I bet if you asked Rose he would say he has paid enough dues hahahahah. Hes hungry. Thibs was smart to go for a great position and he knew it was a good team and he made it even better. Bulls arent used to being the favorite, its going to be tough. 2nd round of the eastern finals is going to be so much fun. I really hope all the favorites get to the second round.

You know the Hornets tried to hire Thibs during last years playoffs. He refused to interview until after the Finals, os they hired Monty Williams. Monty in no way is a bad coach, but he is no Thibs.

Chicago waited in the weeds. Patience is a virtue.

Don't be surprised if the Pacers tie the series at 2 - 2.

Has it ever happened? A 22-year-old star winning a title or a rookie head coach? My brain is fried right now.

                Yep -- good call.

And I think Magic was 22 when the Lakers won it all.

Kareem and Magic were common denominators for both Riley and Magic -- hard to say what Thibodeau will be like down the road as an NBA coach, but I know Noah and/or Boozer ain't Abdul-Jabbar to complement Rose.

I don't think even most Bulls fans expect us to be NBA champs, never did, from what i discern from rational Bulls fans. But they do expect to go deep in the playoffs and contend for ECF.

Duncan was pretty young (second year) during the spurs first title, Pop wasnt a rookie coach though and he did have the admiral next to him
