This is exactly what happened the Clippers last week..Memphis scored like 37 points in the second half and lost their 14 point lead.

This is why you hedge when it comes down to the last leg and you won all other games...

Those slimy point shaving S.O.B's. I knew when both teams wen't on a brick spree from about the 11 minute mark til the 7 minute mark of the 3rd quarter that the over was toast. NBA is getting to the point that it's no less scripted than the WWE

This is a regular occurrence in an NBA game where the total jumps a few points. Big offensive first half the two teams followed by a second half dud.

Totals suck. That's why I rarely play them.

I've learned that you can't try to "pace" the game. For Example, the Warriors and Kings scored 120 points in the first half and the over/under was 217. If you had the over you probably thought you were ahead of the "pace". All you need was for them to score 98 in the second half and you were good. Surely, they will score 98 in the second half if they scored 120 in the first half right??? WRONG!!!!! A lot of it has to do with the pace of the game.

If the first half is high scoring it always seems like the second half is low scoring and vice versa. Totals are such a crap shoot. You might as well flip a coin. There is also a lot of BS at the end. I just prefer not to play them. I don't see how you cap them.

i have cut my totals play a lot this season because i've been on the losing side of too many games like the ones in these threads. honestly, if you're not running math models you should really limit total play as much as you can in the nba, esp after the break. unless you have some kind of knack for understanding cheating, scandalous activity in warriors/kings games, of course...

I had late game under 226.5 chasing losses ... At 218 with under thirty left threes good old Ronny artest fouling down 12... TWICE... Final 226... Even the easy games aren't even fn close... Best thing to do if I ever had any discipline would be to just read the box score when its over and move on
