First Post - need a win!
hey guys, I'm only new to the game (the betting one) but know basketball pretty damn well from playing and watching more than i should!

i have had a REALLY bad run (for me) chasing the last few days

went down three times on boston (LAC, PHI and NJ)

went down on SAN antonio vs MIA

then i tried to make up for losses by dropping 1k on GSW vs SAC (such a bad start - if they didnt sit monta and steph for so long prob wouldve won)

and today i lost again $500 on DAL vs PORT.

    i am down about $3k

but have about $500 to bet - i wanna get some back

the enticing ones for me are:

    PHIL (+1.5) @ LAC

    and ORL (-5.5) @ MIL

maybe even ORL (-5.5) @ MIL into over 179.5

was thinking of parlay of last pick into PHI for 300

and $200 SU on ORL and PHI to hedge bet?

    advice, pointers, tips?

My advice is to step back & learn to manage your emotions and bankroll. Don't chase losses, this will wipe you out. Everyone on this forum has experienced something similar, in my case it got out of control.

I lost $5k on the Magic & stupidly risked $10k on a football game to make it back. I got away with it that time but it was an insane decision that could've ended with me dropping $15k in one day.

Respect risk, and always be aware that you can lose a of money very quickly if you don't enforce sensible bet sizes. Anything can happen in the NBA. Look at Kobe's incident vs Dallas, a lot of ppl backed them heavily, but if he didn't get up...

Good luck with your picks & I hope you get some wins.

welcome....try to stay away from public games..if you see the public on one side and the line does not move....bet the other way
look at travel schedules...back two back games....play against teams on their 1st game home after a long road trip....revenge situations...although they are overated in the pros.....maybe Okla tonight in revenge against the heat...look for unders...hitting at almost 54 % this year..stay away from parleys....hard enough to win one game
when you see fishy lines like dallas -1.5 last nite....take the home dog or pass on the game....public perception is built into the line....read books on probability and statistics.....google pinnicle pulse articles...understand what positive expected value is and know what percnet your edge is,,,,, recommended reading; conquering risk sbr bookstore, and sharp betting ..Stanford Wong

just stick with orl -5.5. Take your time in turning things around dont push it. Trust me I know. Patience is the key things will turn around. Stick with magic. Read thread I posted about Kings tonight it's a better play yet in my opinion. Gl hope U cash.......
