#73miami frontcourt is lately struggling. at chicago match they had could't be able to take board and luol deng had come again free throw line. also miami defense is not good at the moment. opponents easily find free shoots against miami. lakers will win i think.Comment -

#74Just bought out of my Lakers posistion entirely. I have Lakers PK and Heat at +2.5 now for the same amount. That is a pretty decent middle opportunity but that is not my thinking for doing this. The kinda thoughts I had later made it more comfortable to watch the coin flip game tonite with nothing at stake to speak of. I really see this game coming down to the wire unless Miami runs off with it. Best of Luck.Comment -

This is a bigger game for the Heat than it is for the Lakers. The Lakers are rolling and the Heat have struggled a great deal lately. I see Lakers not playing as well and Kobe will feel the need to press the issue. You know what Lebron and Wade will bring to the game. They both will have big games and Chris Bosh will step up tonite. Bosh has stepped out and called for the ball and brought attention to himself and I really think he will have his "A" game tonite. I also feel that some of the open looks for Chalmers, Miller, etc will fall early giving them confidence.
The Heat recently lost to Portland who played perhaps there best game all yr and Miami had chances in that game to win the game but every push Miami made Portland had an answer. Portland shared the ball and moved it around the court with precision and Portland knocked down good shots all night.
Bottomline.. The Lakers will NOT play a better game than Portland just did and from a basketball standpoint Portland actually has more overall better players than LA. I realize LA is better than Portland but Portland has way more quality players than Portland does and there depth abused the Heat on the Bench by outscoring the Heat bench 41-8 and Portland only won by 9 pts.. I would be willing to bet you do not see that large of a difference between both benches tonite.
LA is in a good spot mentally and have reminded everybody they are still the best team in Basketball. I feel they come out relaxed and get there comeuppance against a desparate home team that does not lack for talent.
In the end from a fundamental basketball standpoint the Lakers are the better team and should win the game, but I had some major second thoughts and voiced some/most of them in this thread. It is not often I have such a reversal on a game that I bet large but when I do my second thoughts are usually right. Besides, the value is with Miami now as they have become undervalued in a hurry. At the end of the day I decided I did not want to be large on a coinflip game late..and that is exactly what this game will be in the end. A coinflip. The Lakers will not run off and beat the Heat handily tonite... If any team runs off it will be the Heat.Comment -

#77Who cares if the Lakers are on a roll and the Heat are having a bad streak now? That's just random variance. Things will turn around for both teams. Considering that Miami has the home court advantage, the current line of Miami +1 looks good to me.Comment -

#80Thanks for your answer, Lyon. Very reasoning to me.
As I already stated is this line a bit "off". That's why there's more "value" on MIA. But who wants to bet against Lakers in a big revenge game.Comment -

Talk about responsible gambling at its best. This is good stuff Lyon. The game is such a tough call and strong arguments for both sides. I am kinda of leaning on the Heat as a home dog on TNT, kinda fits the script. Good luck with your middle. When the Lakers come to Miami the games usually go down to the wire.Comment -

#92Any arguments that involve choosing a side based on where the line in this game are not super relevant, IMO. I placed a fair line for this game at Lakers -1.5. Both teams have strong fan bases in both public bettors and high rollers, plus TNT, etc, so this is going to be a high volume game. The line fluctuations have been consistent with what you'd expect to see on such a game and I expect the line to roll back to LAL -1.5 by tip.
Long story short, the line provides no edge. I like the Over a little bit, but the side is unappealing unless there's a live +8.5 or better available at some point.Comment -

#94Most recent big matches ended up with surprising result. In most cases team that had small chances by the bookies, won! In my opinion it will be the same tonight. The reality is Lakers to win, but this time it will not happen.

Hello, nimrod! Go check my statement about me having second thoughts... It became well before any writeup provided by goatmilk. Besides, I tend to not put alot of stock into what anybody says that predicts the Heat was going to win 73+ games preseason..
Also, when you are betting more than $25,50 bucks on these games your perpective has a tendency to change.Comment -

As I mentioned above I am not betting a few dollars on these games and I chose to back out of what will in my estimation be a very tight finish imo after analyzing everything more once the dust settles. If Lakers win, so be it but I would be more upset if the Heat won and I did nothing about it after having second thoughts.Comment -

#101Originally posted by lyon804When I started this thread I was sure that LA would beat Miami on Thursday. 5 Dimes posted a line of LA-2 before any book. Once the line was actually released by bookmaker and Greek as LA @ PK I jumped on it not thinking twice about it because I was convinced the line would move and it has, but all of sudden I have the strangest feeling about this game. For basketball reason's I like LA still, but when I have a strange feeling about something my gut is usually right. For some odd reason I see Bosh having a good game and I see the Heat getting key contributions from Mike Miller,Chalmers,Bench,etc... It is the damndest thing but I see the Heat playing a really good game and LA not playing as well as they have and this game will be a coin flip late. I am going to sleep on it and see if I still feel the same tommorow and if I do I will buy out of my Lakers bet and take Miami, hopefully +2 or better. Who knows maybe I get lucky and the Lakers win by 1 and I middle or 2 and I push my Heat side. I know it was just a bunch of ramblings from me but I feel responsible to at least voice that I am having reservations for those that got excited and went big on the Lakers as well...
Originally posted by lyon804Do you just pride yourself on fading the public?? You know every pick from you is some fade the public system. There is actually a game played on the court that has matchup implications. There are teams that come into form and out of form. Right now Lakers are in form and Miami is out of form. Win or lose taking the Miami Heat is NOT a smart bet.
Originally posted by lyon804yes, it wasn't "smart" fading the Lakers last nite was it? It is not smart tommorow either.
