The Rockets are a pretty good squad. Seriously, when is the last time this team wasn't at the very least competitive in a game. As the season has gone on, they seem to have discovered their identity. Lowry has been playing lights out and is proving that he was deserving of the starting point guard role. Martin continues to score and Scola has really reached his potential and despite great numbers, does a lot of things that don't necessarily show up in the box score. They have solid depth at most positions and a lot of guys that can shoot the ball.

I think Rockets are able to cover the 5 in Portland tonight and I actually like them to win the game straight up.

Portland at home is usually pretty tough, and they are still mad about the Hawks game. It's a no play for me.

Portland is in adjustment mode. Roy is back now, they just traded for Gerald Wallace, and Aldridge was hurt the other night (although he seems to be OK). Maybe they are "mad" about the loss the other night but I can't see them dominating this game.

wallace should lose the jitters tonight and has had a day to practice with everyone. i can see them being very tuff tonight against a weak D.
don't forget rockets were down to hornets about 16 before making a run. i don't see blazers getting dominated again after having a practice to fit in wallace.

          i took it at -4.5.

tonights the night of home teams.

Because other than the first month of the season when they sucked, they've been a covering a machine (24-17-1 ATS since December 1). Hence, they are "undervalued."

OK, we can spin this anyway you want. They're 13-9 since Jan 15. So what is your point? That they didn't cover in a short time span from December 25-Jan 14? My point is that they have covered a lot after a bad first month (I gave the ATS record since Dec 1) and that I don't think the oddsmakers have adjusted yet.

highly spinnable nature of this argument just proves the team is inconsistent, thus not very good

Rockets participate in way too many trivial games that would be more appropriately settled with a gentlemanly game of horse

Because they give up 105 ppg... You can't rely on a team that does that.
