WHY IS IT -2? HEY DEXTER why is it -2?
Dallas has a solid matchup here against Philly. In their last meeting, Dallas won by 9 at home. Dallas size destroyed the 76ers down low in that meeting. Haywood and Chandler combined for over 30 rebounds in that game. Brand and Iguadala had below average games and Philly's bench played well as usual.
Dirk has a significant height advantage over brand. At any time, Dirk can shoot over the top. Brand is dealing with a sore pinkie which doesn't affect shooting motion much since you are shooting with the three main fingers but it could affect him at some point. Terry, Marion, and Baraea are playing their best ball of the year right now. Philly does not want to play a slashing team with guards like Rodney, Bareau and Terry. Most of their guards are bigger guards like Evans, Meeks, and Williams that are slow-footed defenders. I expect Dallas combo of speedy guards to open a lot for dallas. Once that part of Dallas is working, they are unstoppable, because they'll start slowing you down and going to dirk on the elbow and Chandler working down low will definitely be a problem for Spencer Hawes. Philly should be able to use their strong guards like Holiday and evans offensively to create. I expect Marion and Stevenson to both see time guarding Iguadala. If you can slow this guy down and not allow him to get his 18 9 and 9 Philly becomes pretty 1 dimensional with all their isolation. I believe Carlise may make the decision to start Stevenson at the 3 or even Marion for this game to guard Andre. It would probably be a mistake to start Peja here as he is a horrid defender but who knows in these regular season games.
One of the key trends with Philly is that if they give up less than 100 at home they always win. I'm not sure if Dallas will hit that number but they will be pretty close and I expect a pretty lackluster overall offensive effort from Philly. The signs were there in the Cleveland game, now coming back home, I don't think they are mentally prepared for Dallas tomorrow night and don't have the keys to victory.
