They get to decide their fate, essentially. Denver's a lock to beat Memphis (provided it's a meaningful game). So, the Hornets pretty much hold their first round fate in their hands. I see three likely scenarios:
If they're indifferent about whether they face Dallas or Denver in the first round, they'll almost surely lose tonight.
If they want Dallas in the first round, they'll probably tank tonight.
If, however, they really want Denver in the first round, they might treat this like a playoff game.
Another interesting angle:
If Dallas would rather face the Lakers than the Hornets, they might tank tonight.
Ladies and gentleman, we could see two teams trying to tank the same game! How wild and wacky would that be? lol
