The problem I can see is that this is more of a hype contest, a chance to promote the NBA's youngest star and marketing pheonom of the future, and the judges may be persuaded to give Mr. Griffin slightly higher scores then he deserves.Comment -

There was a clip the other day of Demar practicing for the competition with help from Jus Fly and Dawkins.
He showed a perfect score dunk in the vid, from the baseline he gets an ally from a teammate off the side of the support that holds the backboard, he catches and goes between the legs.
It looks like they altered the video on NBA.com and took it out. Got him at +600 which is pretty crazy imo. It all comes down to the vote though, but if he comes strong in the 1st dunk of the 1st round and gets people behind him and has 2 more dunks in the finals he can take it down.Comment -

Well I didn't realize it was in LA now I have to think more about it. I was going with Demar DeRozan and Blake Griffin until the day of the dunk contest. Now I think about it Blake Griffin might have an unfair advantage since it's in Los Angeles. I originally was going with Brandon Jennings but he is out. So now I am not sure I want to make the bet.

Ibaka rules but he is from Congo. Manu could be ultra mega superstar but hes not american. Maybe the most underrated player ever.

Ibaka and McGee have no shot at all they are too tall. Don't waste your money on them. Dwight H. won it and it was the worst performance in dunk contest history. He won it because of his name and lack of competition. he just put on a cape and that was all the judges needed
I just don't see any way Griffin loses this because of his status on sportscenter. Lebron last year has been totally replaced by Griffin. Derozan is almost too tall but he could pull it off but I doubt it.Comment -
