Toughness is what decides the playoffs. This is why I don't think too much of Boston. A good regular season team, but none of these players have ever gone deep into the playoffs. This will show when the chips are down. This is why I think the Suns with Shaq are more dangerous than with Marion.
Who are the contenders, in my opinion?
In the East: Pistons and Celtics.
In the West: Lakers, Spurs, Suns.
Using playoff toughness ratings from 1 to 5 (5 being toughest), how would you rate these teams?
I have them:
Pistons 5 (former champ with core in tact)
Celtics 3 (no deep playoff experience)
Lakers 4 (Kobe and Fisher have it; Gasol not yet)
Spurs 5 (same as Pistons)
Suns 4.5 (up from 4 with Shaq; could get to 5 as they continue to gel)
