Maybe if you took a second to look at something other then line movement, like the news maybe, you'd know there is nothing interesting there.

well, according to you, sbr odds are "rarely accurate"...so why does it even matter.

What news has broke in the last two hours?

Butler and Dirk are out -- we've known that since yesterday.

            These are from the books.

SBR percentages (public plays) are rarely accurate.

No you did not know that since yesterday. Dirk is expected to play this week, noone said exactly when that was gonna happen, he wasn't officially announced out till right before the magic started happening with that line movement. Add two and two together and you have a very simple and logical explanation to the miracle RML you are witnessing.

I guess I'd assumed the lines would be set with the assumption he wasn't playing, since he hasn't in a while, and then they would adjust accordingly if it was announced that he was going to see action -- not the other way around.

Dirk Nowitzki (knee) has been ruled out of Tuesday's game against the Blazers.

I mentioned yesterday that Utah opened at 10.5 in Pinnacle, Bookmaker and Greek. You quickly brushed it off saying "sbr odds are rarely accurate". The opening lines were from the books too...not from SBR.

I simply pointed out that Covers.com had the opening line at 7, because that's where some shops started. Period.

SBR public percentages are off quite often.

And i think you are wrong in your assumption.

I think the lines were set knowing that there was no official word on whether he would play or not and leaving room to adjust to either possibility. You think Mavs would be -4 at HOME vs Blazers if books thought Dirk would play? Come on.

It wasn't very likely that he would play, so the line makes sense. If it was announced he was he, i'm sure the line would jump up 2 points or so, now that he was announced out it went down.

Like Blazers +3, but who knows.

Interesting to note that last year with Dirk out Dallas beat Cleveland, then Dirk came back and they lost to Portland.

I could see this game a lot like the Bucks game against a good defensive team the Mavericks will struggle to find points.

agree with avonbarksdale...unless refs call a terrible game against blazers, mavericks will struggle dearly to put up points against blazers. Blazers match up real well against mavs and should take this one straight up
