Los Angeles Lakers at New Orleans Hornets
Game: Los Angeles Lakers at New Orleans Hornets (Thursday 12/30 2:00 CET)
This might be the squarest play through entire card of all American sports, however I really doubt this one won't hit. The Lakers are in huge slump, losing last three in a row and however opponents were solid (besides Bucks, who're average), style os these losses was bad and that's why the spread is looking like that. Actually -3.0 is a short one, no matter the fact they're on the road with such form. Firstly, they're the champions and no matter if they're tanking a little bit in the regular season or not, they're definitely fired up in here and really need a statement performance after being crushed by both Heat and Spurs. Hornets are solid only on the paper because actually this team is very average and although they started season in great fashion, it was a total fluke. I won't be surprised if they miss play-offs after all because besides Paul, no one is playing good basketball. And Chris will be starting to be unmotivated with this crew, especially that he's already wanted to leave the team. Both Bryant and Jackson are experienced and definitely know that Lakers have to win the game and come back team chemistry. The form won't matter, class will prevail. Hornets are coming off a loss against Timberwolves, earlier lost to Pacers and Pistons so their form is as bad as Lakers, while no one is mentioning that fact, looking just on the Lakers. Between these two teams is big quality gap, so with both being out-of-form, I'm taking guests in here and expect a cruising mode for the Lakers.
Pick: 1 unit on Los Angeles Lakers -3.0 @ 1.926

Ha, you really have a strange understanding of the word average.

Square or not, this is LA or no bet. Dont care how bad they looked lately fading LA in this spot is silly.

I'm with you on this one.

I like the Lakers tonight as well. People on here have really been overreacting to their recent slump. Kobe is getting old etc etc. I think they will come out and cover this spread pretty handily.

Lakers are the play here for one main reason.....Kobe's press conference after the Miami Heat loss.

When he is upset and frustrated like that....usually he gets his team to respond....and respond they will.

That worked well against the Spurs, didn't it?

Not saying the Lakers will lose, but I'm staying away from this game.

Well the Spurs are another elite team so can't be surprised there. In fact it only adds more fuel to the fire for this New Orleans Hornets game. Taking this and the Jazz (-2.5) to cover at Clippers.

Also Oklahoma St. (-5) to cover against Arizona in college football.

Pounded Spurs yesterday, Pounding Lakers today

Kobe should get back on track after two horrible games.

Ill wait till they go home and pound them then against the sixers. Both lakers and new orleans are reeling and its a coin flip in my opinion.

Adding a play on the UNDER. Hornets are playing a defensive minded basketball all year long, so adding fact they're struggling offensively now a lot, they HAVE TO defend tough if want to win this game. Lakers haven't been scoring much in these losses, so even though I believe they'll be better today, I doubt they'll outshoot opponents - they're fired up and will come out strong on both ends. Jackson exactly knows that the key will be defense against mediocre Hornets offense, while Paul can't do much alone.

Pick: 1 unit on Game Total UNDER 190 points @ 2.000
