Golden State Warriors at Atlanta Hawks
Game: Golden State Warriors at Atlanta Hawks (Thursday 12/30 1:00 CET)
The key in this game is Warriors problem in the frontcourt because however it's not their strength and most probably no one analysis this factor between these two teams, I suppose it'll cause huge troubles for the gusts. Generally speaking this team is very mediocre in the paint, so with two centers missing the game (Biedrins is OUT, while Gadzuric questionable and I doubt he plays), they won't take advantage to biggest opponents weakness. Hawks have been outrebounded in most games lately and actually their starting big man Collins is average, theoretically non-existing offensively - now with Warriors being even worse under the rim, the Hawks will have a chance to concentrate on perimeter, when they're a lot better team than opponents. Of course guests know how to score, having very good shooters, however they won't have chance to stop opponents as Warriors defense is purely bad. On the other hand Hawks are solid on defensive end, allowing only 94.2 points per game, so they shouldn't allow triple digits number of points in here, while offensively, they should put up a big number, having Johnson, Bibby and Smith against horrible defenders like Curry, Ellis and Wright. When it comes to statistics, Warriors are struggling on the road, having 4-12 SU season record, while Hawks have been dominating at home, going 4-1 ATS in last five as hosts. -7.0 ain't a big spread as Hawks are a lot better, have got home-court advantage and finally face a team, which won't kill them in the frontcourt and it's a X-factor for me.
    Pick: 1 unit on Atlanta Hawks -7.0 @ 1.943

Hawks are getting a bit of their comfort back with JJ. But GS is doing the same with Curry back. Their #1 pick has been back for 7 games now. Its not like the Hawks dominate the paint so Beidrins being out isn't that big of a deal. GS could recapture how they played early in the season with Curry/Ellis dominating everyone, including road games. Too many ifs for this to be a good call.

And you can't calls yourself The Expert after saying Collins is average. One of the worst players in the league is far from average.

Collins is bad but I see some signs of improvement defensively. By the way it depends on opinion, if you look only on offensive end then, YES, he is terrible.

I know all about his defense from his Nets days. He was actually quality enough to make all-defensive teams but never got the credit. Remember him making Bosh look like a little girl in the play-offs, always played Shaq tough and brought a lot of intengilables to the game. Never chased after rebounds but blocked out on every possession so Jason Kidd can get his. He was never a numbers guy so believe me thats not what i'm looking at. His knees are shot, he hasn't been a factor for the last 3 years or so, def one of the worst in the league now. I doubt he's even starting on permanent bases, they like Horford at PF which is the only reason he starts, not like he even plays enough minute to matter. I'm just saying that both teams are not strong inside so Biedrins being out should not be that big of a factor.

Not picking sides in this one just staying away, so GL with your pick.

Adding a play on the OVER after some thoughts because without big men for both sides (when it comes to offensive end), these two should combine lots of points, using their perimeter most of the time. Warrios are always run and gun machine, so however new coach stopped them a bit, they'll be playing fast today (without both Gadzuric and Biedrins) and that means they'll have no defense at all and lot of transition points for hosts are expected. Line is going to be higher in my opinion.

Pick: 1 unit on Game Total OVER 203 points @ 1.909

If Ellis is ok the Warriors can keep this game close. His ankle was bothering him but with a day off I think he'll be running full speed. Good Luck but I think it'll be a bit closer than you think.
