Reasons why I like Denver in this position.
(A) They play great basketball at home. Even those games where they slump during the 1st half, they usually turn around during the 2nd half. Last week's game vs. the Lakers is a prime example.
(B) The NJ Nets are struggling & they're on the 2nd half of a back-to-back on the West Coast. They played a tough loss last night at Sacramento losing the game 86 to 81. It's a fairly long flight after that to get to Denver (I want to say at least 2 hours roughly), so they could be jetlagged & tired right now.
(C) This could be somewhat of a statement game for Carmelo Anthony. It could be another chance for him to prove his brand value. The Nets, after all, are one of the teams vying for his presence. If Carmelo kicks their ass, they might want him even more.
That's really about it. Anyone beg to differ?
