Forget NHL, Nashville's lucky to still have country music after Branson and death of Minnie Pearl. Some of you new generation n00bs have no clue what I'm talkin about because you haven't lived & you're too worried about losing that next bet.

Don't make big deal outta all this hoopla surrounding Toronto's offense not scoring much these days. Fact is the Leafs get lots of scoring chances, and they're gonna put pucks in the net. Predators ain't no pushover, but this ain't no place for them. Bettman ain't gonna sit back & let Toronto lose this game @ home. Maybe a few years ago when he was all manifest destiny about expanding NHL to places like Carolina & Phoenix, but not anymore.

Bettman ain't expanding nothing no more. In fact, there's talk of moving clubs back to Canada. I say hell yes. The homos in Phoenix have no effin clue about hockey. Sad to watch decent team wasted in the desert....and that jackass Las Vegas Mayor Goodman wants NHL team in my hometown. Don't think so, pal.

I hear a few people round here saying the shewolves ain't that bad a team cuz they covering spreads. Let me tell ya something, pal, they don't win games. Period. That's cuz they don't play no effin defense. Period. So good luck betting that sack of shit, same goes w/Pistons.

But we ain't talkin she-wolves here. We talkin Rocksters. We also talkin the Wooly Bullys. These teams know defense....at least Houston knows it well enuff to realize they can't consistently win without it. Got news for ya pal....they gonna whippit out tonite (no pun intended) and we be looking at competitive lower scoring game than most peeps think.

Lakers laying same # of points here as they did in Denver last week. That's gonna be a big problem for Faker bettors tonite.....

That Nuggets game was all about offense....no effin defense at all. Denver shoulda lost that game but they had fluke performance in Q4 from their bench.

Got a nice matchup of conflicting styles tonite.....the obvious matchup is Bucks "D" vs Lakers "O" & I would lean toward Bucks "D" just cuz game's in Milwaukee.

But the $$$ gonna determined from other aspect of this game that peeps ignoring....Bucks "O" vs Lakers "D". Gotta give edge to Buckeroos again.

Looks like you had a overall goodnight, im sour from that bucks game. I caught one of the locals shading the line so i hammered bucks 4.5 and it backfired on me. He was shading memphis to 1.5 so i was barely lucky to get that. How are you in NHL? I dont really bet it is it like mlb?

Bucks had plenty of chances in this game, really just 1 bad quarter...

I'm winning $$$ at NHL so far, but just not catching many breaks in NBA, plus I goofed tonite & bet Houston instead of under

NHL is like MLB in many ways....low scoring with minimal correlation between offense/defense....it's easier for me to get grip on a team's strength/weakness and the type of results I can expect from them @ home and on the road. Little tougher in the NBA because of variable pace factor.

lol that bucks game wasn't a trap.....lakers caught breaks in 2nd half and Bucks didn't, that's all there is to it. Could've gone either way, but oddsmakers were quite generous with the points taking the Bucks

looks like Bulls are relying on defense to win games so far, so if you can get good number on the road where they are playing to shut down the home team's offense (like tonite) you might have a good "under" bet

good number e.g., minimum 195-200 range depending upon the opponent

after they pull goalie at end of game (say score is 3-2), you only see a goal scored about a third of the time, so the empty net goals hurt when they happen, but they really don't happen most of the time

i don't use hockey prospectus, that stuff isn't useful for gambling imo

you're better off doing your own homework and tracking teams individually game by game to determine strength/weakness. Is offense their strength? or is it a liability? Same for defense. Most teams have one of those as their strength & the other as their weakness, so if you somehow normalize that to league median, it's easier to anticipate type of game they play @ home and on the road. Generally, average/good offense is accentuated @ home while average/poor defense is a liability on the road. Translate those tendencies to winning/losing and over/under then bet accordingly
