      Players up for trade bait

      Carlos Pena 33 Left Left
Analysis: A one-year, $10 million deal expires at season's end, and Pena should end up with another 30-homer, 80-RBI season while hitting at the Mendoza line, with plus defense. The Cubs need to save those dollars to put toward a run at Prince Fielder or Albert Pujols come November. The Rays would take him back if the Cubs eat all the money, but that's not happening.

      James Loney 27 Left Left
Analysis: Dodgers GM Ned Colletti, who used to work for the Giants, has finished below .500 just once in the last 15 years, and this will be his first year as a "seller" at the deadline. The Dodgers need more production from first base next year and are expected to make a run at Fielder and/or Pujols, depending on their ownership situation. Loney might fit with the Indians because of their emphasis on defense and the questions that always surround Travis Hafner's health. LaPorta can always DH.

      Chris Davis 25 Left Right
Analysis: Davis has power and is a good defensive first baseman. He is a bench player with holes at the plate, but with the ability to hit the long ball. Davis has 21 homers for Triple-A Round Rock this year and has slugged .460 in more than 900 big league plate appearances.

      Derrek Lee 35 Right Right
Analysis: There's not much left in the tank and I doubt there's a taker.

      *****

      Orlando Hudson 33 Both Right
Analysis: The four-time Gold Glove winner and two-time All-Star is hitting just .231/.330 but does have 11 steals in 12 attempts. Hudson is a winner and would be a solid addition to the Cardinals or Giants down the stretch.

      Omar Infante 29 Right Right
Analysis: The Marlins' brass is never afraid to cut ties with players acquired in trades that don't work out. He's a tremendous utility player that could help any contending team because of versatility.

      Aaron Hill 29 Right Right
Analysis: He's just two years removed from hitting 36 home runs and driving in 108 runs. However, his OBP has been below .300 for two straight years and he's now 29. The Blue Jays need to listen to offers for contending teams that need help at second, and Hill's power is rare for that position.

      Jeff Baker 30 Right Right
Analysis: The Cubs are telling teams he's not available, but isn't every player available for the right price? Like Infante, he's extremely versatile and could help a lot of teams for that reason.

      *****

      Rafael Furcal 33 Both Right
Analysis: If Furcal can stay healthy he would be a difference-maker for the Cardinals. His presence would allow them to move Ryan Theriot back to second base, which would add significant speed to the top of their lineup. A change of scenery would help Furcal and pave the way to accelerate the development of top prospect Dee Gordon for the Dodgers. Jose Reyes would be No. 1 on this list, but the Mets don't appear inclined to trade him and will try to sign him to a long-term deal this winter.

      Jason Bartlett 31 Right Right
Analysis: This has been another down year for Bartlett, whose baseball skills are far better than his numbers (.611 OPS). The Padres would love to get out of the final year of his contract and multiple teams have mild interest.

      *****

      Aramis Ramirez 33 Right Right
Analysis: Ramirez has a full no-trade and a vesting option that would have to be eradicated before any trade, making it unlikely he gets moved. However, the Angels and Pirates would be a perfect fit since they both desperately need some production from the hot corner.

      Mark Reynolds 29 Right Right
Analysis: Teams that have a need for power and could use an occasional three-run homer from the bottom of their lineup should have interest, as long it's a lineup that presently has few strikeouts.

      Juan Uribe 32 Right Right
Analysis: The Dodgers have to be regretting the three-year, $21 million deal they gave Uribe this past offseason and might eat some salary if they can get the bulk of that contract off their books. For teams that value postseason experience, Uribe has plenty of it.

      Ty Wigginton 33 Right Right
Analysis: Wigginton can play three infield positions and has good pop (13 homers). He could be a useful bench player for any number of teams.

      Wilson Betemit 29 both right
Analysis: He's a solid switch-hitter who can play both corner infield spots and would probably be more helpful to a National League club in need of a pinch-hitter with some pop. Betemit has an .830 OPS as a part-time player over the past two seasons.

      Casey Blake 37 Right Right
Analysis: Blake has been bothered by a pinched nerve all season, and is currently on the DL. That said, there are a ton of teams that love hard-nosed vets like him, and the Indians and Mariners have expressed interest.

      *****

      Ryan Ludwick 33 Right Left
Analysis: Seattle, Cincinnati and Cleveland keep getting mentioned as possible destinations for Ludwick. Petco Park has suppressed his power numbers (.376 slugging), but he thrived in the NL Central for St. Louis and could give the Reds a big boost in left.

      Josh Willingham 32 Right Right
Analysis: The Phillies, Pirates and Red Sox have scouted him this year. If he's healthy, right-handed power and special makeup make him a good pickup for someone.

      Luke Scott 33 Left Right
Analysis: It's time for Baltimore GM Andy MacPhail to shine, and Scott is the kind of power bat who could bring back a decent prospect or two. In order for that to happen, Scott will need to show that his shoulder injury will not hold him back the rest of the year. He's about to come off the DL, and a hot streak before the deadline would do wonders for his value.

      Conor Jackson 29 Right Right
Analysis: Jackson knows how to take a walk and would be a good fit for the Red Sox's bench.

      *****

      Michael Bourn 28 Left Right
Analysis: The Astros would prefer to not have to trade Bourn, who leads the league in stolen bases for the third consecutive year. However, the Braves need a center fielder to replace the ineffective Nate McLouth and have a farm system deep enough to make an offer that the rebuilding Astros can't refuse.

      Denard Span 27 Left Left
Analysis: The Twins have to make a decision sometime soon between Span and Ben Revere. Span is signed through 2014 (with a team option for 2015), but he is much more expensive than Revere right now and could be moved. However, Minnesota is now just five games out of first, so they might not be sellers after all.

      Coco Crisp 32 Both Right
Analysis: For a team that has a rep for emphasizing OBP, Oakland doesn't have much of it. That said, Crisp (.312 OBP this year) has a strong enough track record that a contender will consider him.

      Melky Cabrera 26 Both Left
Analysis: Cabrera can play all three outfield positions and has matured off the field. His .786 OPS is a career high.

      Marlon Byrd 33 Right Right
Analysis: Too many contending teams need outfield help and the Cubs need to get younger. He's hitting .306 and would help a lot of teams.

      *****

      Hunter Pence 28 Right Right
Analysis: The Astros are not inclined to move Pence since he is their best position player. However, that won't stop contending teams from trying to overwhelm the Astros with a blockbuster offer. In the end, I think he stays put.

      Carlos Beltran 34 Both Right
Analysis: Beltran is making $18 million this year, and moving him would free up some more cash for a Jose Reyes extension. With his All-Star first half, his value is high. Most likely destinations include San Francisco, Boston, Los Angeles (Angels), Seattle, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Philly.

      Jeff Francoeur 27 Right Right
Analysis: His name pops up at the trade deadline every year and this year is no different. He's on pace for his first 100-RBI season since 2007 and would fit well with the Phillies.

      David DeJesus31LeftLeft
Analysis: A disappointing first half with the Oakland A's (.224 average) hurts his value, but his ability to play all three outfield positions means there will be some demand.

      Kosuke Fukudome 34 Left Right
Analysis: The Cubs have been trying to move him and his contract for two years. They'll keep trying. This is the last year of his four-year, $48 million deal, which will make him easier to move. Plus, his .373 OBP shows he can get on base.

      *****

      Rod Barajas 35 Righ tRight
Analysis: To succeed you can't be afraid to trade in your own division, and he would be an upgrade for the Giants with Buster Posey likely out for the year. But he's better suited to a backup role.

      Dioner Navarro 27 Both Right
Analysis: We know he's not going back to Tampa Bay; that bridge has been burned. However, someone with a good memory of Navarro's great 2008 season with the Rays could take a chance on him.

      Ivan Rodriguez 39 Right Right
Analysis: This future Hall of Famer needs to be moved so Wilson Ramos can catch every day. Not sure there will be any takers, even if he does get healthy enough to be reinstated from the DL. The Giants love veterans, so he could be a fit there.

      Jose Molina 36 Right Right
Analysis: He's a Molina, so you know he can handle himself behind the plate. Good fit for a team in need of catching depth.

      *****

      Vladimir Guerrero 36 Right Right
Analysis: He was very likely to move until a recent fracture of his right hand. He'll probably finish the year in Baltimore.

      Hideki Matsui 37Left Right
Analysis: A .622 OPS is a strong indication that the end is nigh for Matsui. But with a couple of hot weeks, some team might take a gamble on him.

      *****

      Ubaldo Jimenez 27 Right Right
Analysis: Rockies GM Dan O'Dowd would have to be overwhelmed to deal Jimenez. However, the Reds and Yankees have enough on the farm to overwhelm him.

      Wandy Rodriguez 32 Both Left
Analysis: He is the best southpaw starter on the market. The Astros are not motivated to move him, but if you want to give up half your farm system you can persuade Ed Wade otherwise.

      Ryan Dempster34RightRight
Analysis: He's a flat-out winner who eats innings. He would be a great fit for the Red Sox or Tigers.

      Hiroki Kuroda36RightRight
Analysis: He's the most underrated pitcher who could become available at the deadline. The Diamondbacks, Rangers and Tigers have all been linked to him.

      Ted Lilly35LeftLeft
Analysis: He just signed a three-year, $33 million deal, and most clubs I talked to don't want the long-term exposure. But his experience and left-handedness would help the Indians or Tigers.

      Brett Myers30RightRight
Analysis: Talk about trade value plummeting. A year ago, he could have netted a top prospect. Instead, the Astros gave him a big extension and his ERA is nearly 5.00 this season. Ouch.

      Jeremy Guthrie32RightRight
Analysis: He's a workhorse who is on pace for his third straight season with more than 200 innings pitched.

      Livan Hernandez36RightRight
Analysis: He gives you innings, throws the kitchen sink at you and is valuable at the back of a rotation.

      Jason Marquis32RightRight
Analysis: This will be the seventh time in eight years he'll win at least 10 games.

      Bruce Chen34LeftLeft
Analysis: He's cheap, left-handed and has been surprisingly effective (3.56 ERA).

      Aaron Harang33RightRight
Analysis: Harang is a nice comeback story, and it's not just the ballpark. His WHIP is down and his delivery has improved.

      Chris Capuano32LeftLeft
Analysis: He's a back-of-the-rotation lefty with injury history. His 4.12 ERA is respectable, however.

      Jeff Francis30LeftLeft
Analysis: Very similar profile to Capuano, a lefty whose career has been marred by injuries. And like Capuano, the fact that he's a southpaw will generate some interest.

      Dustin Moseley29RightRight
Analysis: His 3.36 ERA is certainly aided by the comfy confines of Petco Park, but that doesn't mean the Padres won't be able to sell high on him.

      *****

      Mike Adams32RightRight
Analysis: One of the most sought-after relievers in baseball. His ERA over the past three seasons is 1.35.

      Tyler Clippard26RightRight
Analysis: Last summer, the Nats flipped reliever Matt Capps for Wilson Ramos, their catcher of the future. If they can get a similar return for Clippard, they'll move him despite his All-Star season.

      Luke Gregerson27RightRight
Analysis: Between Adams, Gregerson and Heath Bell, Padres GM Jed Hoyer could retool his farm system just by trading relievers.

      Grant Balfour33RightRight
Analysis: One of the few offseason moves that really worked for the A's this year (9.8 K's per nine). He should have good trade value at the deadline.

      Koji Uehara36RightRight
Analysis: Uehara hasn't allowed a run since June 19 and is generating significant interest from the Pirates and Reds, who want him to solidify their sixth and seventh inning situations out of the pen.

      Kerry Wood34RightRight
Analysis: He took less money to sign with the Cubs, but got a no-trade clause in return. He loves it in Chicago, so it's likely he stays where he is.

      *****

      Sean Marshall28LeftLeft
Analysis: Lefty relievers are extremely important in the postseason. The Rangers, Red Sox and Yankees would love to have him.

      Brian Fuentes35LeftLeft
Analysis: Mixed reviews of his performance with the A's (4.74 ERA), but he has plenty of postseason experience, which many teams value.

      Randy Choate35LeftLeft
Analysis: Tony La Russa would love to have him to get out lefties Joey Votto, Jay Bruce or Prince Fielder. Lefties are hitting just .093 against Choate.

      Mike Dunn26LeftLeft
Analysis: Dunn has been traded twice in the past two years, so he's used to getting moved. He is a hard thrower who's whiffed almost 11 men per nine innings in his career.

      Jose Mijares26LeftLeft
Analysis: When the command catches up to the stuff, watch out. Like Denard Span, he could end up staying in Minnesota now that the Twins are inching back into the AL Central race.

      *****

      Heath Bell33RightRight
Analysis: It's his walk year and the Padres are out of the race. He's the top reliever available and it's only a matter of time before he is dealt. Cardinals? Rangers?

      Andrew Bailey27RightRight
Analysis: The A's want to build up their offense with young position players and are now listening to proposals for Bailey (0.71 WHIP) along with the rest of their bullpen.

      Joakim Soria27RightRight
Analysis: Soria has given up only one earned run since May 30. His trade value is back and the Royals have to listen to offers.

      Huston Street27RightRight
Analysis: The Rockies are ready to retool for the future and will listen on Street, who is signed through next year and has a 2013 player option.

      Leo Nunez27RightRight
Analysis: With a mid-90s fastball, he can blow anyone away when he's on his game. He has 82 saves over the past three seasons, which ranks 10th in baseball. Of course, he also has 18 blown saves in that time, which is tied with Matt Capps for the most in the majors.

                            Amir “King” Kahn's camp ~

The pride of England made a change from the U.K. to the United States in 2008, after he suffered his first career loss to Breidis Prescott. Khan made the move because he couldn't pass up the opportunity to train with legendary trainer, Freddie Roach, at the Wild Card gym in Hollywood, CA. The wild card gym is home to a plethora of champions, plus it gives Khan a chance to learn and develop his craft from legendary fighters like Manny Pacquiao. Under Freddie's watchful eye, Khan rebounded from his crushing knock out in 2008, to become the WBA light welterweight champion in 2009.

Roach started showing signs of Parkinson's disease in his early twenties, which forced him to retire from boxing at the young age of 26. “Master Roach” has gotten a bit worse over the years, but continues to preserver and teach the sweet science, which has produced twenty-seven world champions. “The Choir Boy” is a five time recipient of the “trainer of the year” award (2003,06,08,09,10), from the Boxing Writers Association of America. Alex Ariza recently reunited with team Khan, as their strength and conditioning coach. His return has been showing positive results, as Amir has packed on a lot of muscle to his frame and is in excellent condition headed into tonight's fight. “La Cucaracha”(Roach) has praised Kahn for having one of his best training camp during their time together. Khan is supremely confident that he can execute Roach's game plan coming into tonight's fight with Judah. Freddie has watched Judah fight over the years and knows the south-paws style will take a little getting use to for Khan in the beginning of the fight, but once he has gets Judah's timing down, his training will take over. The training camp has been so successful for Khan, that Roach has surprisingly gone as far to publicly predict a knock out win for his fighter over Zab Judah.

                            Judah's camp ~

Judah”'s farther stepped aside as his trainer at the right time of his sons career, as he knew his son needed a different style of expertise in other areas of his training. The arrival of Pernell Whitaker to Team Judah came at the perfect moment in his career, as he helped Judah resurrect his career by capturing his 5th title, when he knocked out Kaizer Mabuza. for the vacant IBF title. The two fighters immediately bonded, in their short time working together and Pernell's Stella Defensive skills started to rub off on Judah. He need the change in his defensive style because his once lighting fast hands had diminished over his lengthy (15 years) career. The fight tonight has many fans anxious to see if Judah can adapt the teachings of the guru's defensive arsenel, as they have had a bit more time to work with each other. The last second arrival of Panama Al Lewis, to Judah's camp has stirred major concern in Khan's camp. Al Lewis was banned from boxing for life and jailed for taking one inch of padding out of Luis Resto's gloves back in 1983, his actions disfigured and almost killed Billy Collins, costing the young fighter his career He was spotted at Judah's camp this week and was immediately banned from the fight tonight, after Khan's camp requested he be nowhere near Judah's training room.

*Will "Master Roach's" game plan provide Khan with the edge he needs to surgically dissect Judah's south-paw style, Or will the Defensive wisdom taught by Guru Whitaker be enough for a old warrior to raise from the ashes once again like a burning*phoenix*and seize a*young champions moment in time.

This Saturday Night at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, WBA champ, Amir “King” Khan will take on, IBF champ, “Super” Zab Judah in a unification bout. With Khan heavy chalk the value for boxing betters might lie in the round total.

The “Bolton Star,” Amir Khan, comes into the fight as a heavy favorite (-400ml to -700ml) versus the old but savvy slick southpaw from Brooklyn, “Super” Judah (+325ml to +450ml). The fight is scheduled for 12 rounds of heart pounding excitement, both men possess the hand speed and power to put the other flat on their backs at any moment.
Game plans of the two fighters
Zab Judah has had a tendency in past title fights (the Mayweather fight in particular) to come out strong in the first half and then mentally and physically fade in the second half. Saturday night Zab will again be looking to come out hard and control the action in the first few rounds trying to get to Khan's questionable jaw.
Khan will want to hide behind his jab while using his height advantage to keep his distance from Judah in the first half of the fight and use his speed to elude and frustrate Zab, until he figures out the southpaw's style. “King” Khan will turn it on around the 5th or 6th round and look to dominate and tire out the older fighter, while scoring points from a distance with his jab and sharp combos.
The two questions for Zab and boxing bettors are, now that he has cleaned up his lifestyle outside the ring, will that be the cure to avoiding his mental melt downs? The other question that remains is has Judah had enough time with his new legendary trainer, Pernell Whitaker, to learn enough defensively to find that missing piece of his second half puzzle?
                              The lines at betting shops
The over / under for the fight is sitting at 9.5 rounds, with the over at -120 and the under at -120 in the betting odds at the majority of the boxing betting shops. There are one or two betting shops that have the over / under at 7.5 rounds with the over being favored at -170 ml and the under sitting at +130.
                              The Value that I see
Zab will come out early and impose his will, but not land the parting shot he wants on Khans chin. The younger champion, Khan, will have more trouble than he thinks in the first few rounds, as Zab and Pernell will dig deep into their plethora of tricks and confuse the young champ. The half way point is where Khan settles down and finds his rhythm, as the older Judah starts to slow from years of wear and tear. The 5th round through the 7th round is where Judah shows up and hangs tough or the “Bolton Star” Khan transforms into a supernova and starts imposing his natural gifts of hand speed on Judah. Judah has lasted to the end of title fights in the past versus better fighters without being knocked unconscious. The fight will go past 9.5 rounds and will either end with a late knock out or a decision win by either fighter .
                              Other value bets
The fight going the distance has some value at +150. The other way to bet it is Khan winning by decision, which has a little more value at +187. If the late KO by Khan is what you’re feeling but you’re not sure what round, pay the extra juice for Khan by KO at -137 ml.
