Saturday night MMA fans, Strikeforce will be at The American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas. The event will feature the last two fights in the Quarter-Finals of The Strikeforce Heavyweight World Grand Prix. The winners of the two quarter-final fights, between Alistair Overeem (32-11) vs Fabricio Werdum (14-4-1) and Brent Rodgers (10-2) vs Josh Barnett (29-5), will determine the final four fighters in the semi-finals. The main card on Showtime starts at 10pm and has a plethora of great fights. The return of K.J.Noons will be on the main card, as he takes on Jorge Masvidal (21-6). Also Rising star Daniel Cormier (7-0) will fight veteran Jeff "The Snowman" Monson (42-11). The final fight on the main card is between Valentijn Overeem (29-25), (Alistair's brother), vs Chad Griggs (10-1). The Under Card will start at 8 pm on HDNet with two great fights between Justin "Silverback" Wilcox vs J.Z. Cavalcante and Conor "The Hurricane" Huen vs Magno "The Pride of Beantown" Almeida. The winner of Wilcox vs Cavalcante will be in line for a shot at Gilbert Melendez- Strikeforce Lightweight Title.

S.F. Champion Alistair Overeem (34-11-1) vs Fabricio Werdum (14-4)
The Main Event is a rematch from back in the days of the Pride Organization, as the Strikeforce Champion Alistair Overeem will get a shot at redemption vs Fabricio Werdum. Werdum beat Alistair way back on May 5, 2006 with a 2nd round Kimura submission. Alistair is a different fighter now, then he was back in his Pride days. Overeem over the years has improved on his striking tremendously and added 30 lbs. to his physique, as a result, he is 9-0-1 in his last 10 fights. Alistair Captured the Strikeforce Title, on November 16, 2007, when he defeated Paul Buentello, by Submission, mid way through (3:42) the 2 round. The Champion in his last 9 fights has finished every opponent he has faced in the first round, by either submission (4 Subm.) or KO (4 KO's)(1N.C.).
Werdum is coming off a stunning win over Fedor Emeliaenko almost a year ago in the quarter finals of the Grand Prix, that ended Fedor's 28-fight win streak. He also beat Fedor's brother, Alexander Emeliaenko, back in November of 2006 while in Pride, to become the only man in the world to have beaten both brothers . The winner of this fight moves on to face Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva, in the semi-final rounds of the World Grand Prix. The fight will be a intriguing match-up, between Alistair who is one of the best Strikers and Werdum who is one of the best grappler's in the world. The fighter who can impose their style first will win this fight.

Josh hasn't fought in over a year and many people think that ring rust will be a factor in his fight vs Rogers.
Rogers has a record of 2-2 in Strikeforce. He knocked out his first two opponents, Abongo Humphrey with a first round KO, then he fought Andrei Arlovski knocking him out in twenty-two seconds of the first round. Josh Barnett was the #2 ranked heavyweight fighter in all of MMA back in 2009. He was supposed to face the #1 Heavyweight in the world at the time, Fedor Emelianenko. Ten days before the fight, he tested positive for steroids (2nd time) and the fight was cancelled.
