Looks like a great game on paper ... San Diego averages 73.6 on offense and Air Force 54.4 on defense ... AF beat them by 3 at home last month as a 9.5 fav. ... Is SDSU a snake pit for visitors?

The crowds are getting bigger because they are finally winning. Should be packed tonight. Air Force is a good team and they must win since they probably will only take 1 team to the big dance in this conference.

              Good luck with your play.

If you checked back on my write-up from yesterday you will see that I had those games nailed...too bad I didn't bet on any of them. Not going to waist thread space make a case for favorites so here are some dogs that attracted my attention.

                      Portland +6.5

Portland's away record is horrible at 5-16 SU but they are 11-10 ATS in those games. Tonight they are playing beaten and battered Pacers team that is playing on guts and pride. I think this will be a tough hard fought game and the +6.5 will come in very handy down the stretch.

                      Clippers +7.5

Both teams played last night so everybody is gonna be tired. Detroit just got back from a long road trip where they did not play particularly well. Lots of talk about the Pistons being tired and worn out. They played at such a high level up till now that I think it has taken a toll on them and they may need to loose a few more before they get the fire back in their bellies. The Clippers on the other had already hit the wall some weeks ago and fell apart for a while but as I've pointed out several times recently they are playing the best BB in the NBA recently and they have the eye of the tiger these days. This should be a good game that comes down to the wire and nobody should be shocked if the Clippers win this one SU.

                      Charlotte/Philly O 203

Philly got stymied by Houston in last game and now they go to Charlotte which has won it's last two at home both SU and ATS. In their L5 Charlotte has averaged 102 on offense and given up 104 on defense. Good chance AI is gonna be running and gunning to make up for his pittifull performace agains Houston and if they go in good chance if goes over...it they don't then good chance Charlotte gets to run with it the other way. Key is will AI be jacking em up early and often? You betcha.

WTF, I'll just jump in as if anyone might have reason to pay attention:

                        OVER 183.5 (-105) @ MINNY (3 units)
Trade with BOS meant to create more up-tempo, slashing, FT-shooting Wolves offense. Banks' minutes on rise -- he provides meaningful push in this direction vs Jaric/Hudson. Always easier to do what you want at home: in one post-trade home game so far Wolves exceed season avgs in AST and FTA and put up 110. Cavs, thoiugh struggling, have not been in under-inducing road blowout except for MIA game, and are still the better club straight up IMO. A tight one with plenty of 4th quarter points.

                        BUCKS -5 (-109) (3 units)
Bucks are in L's elite over last ten games and the number does not require any special motivation/performance from them. Magliore playing well enough to offset the manchild inside.

                        BULLS +6 (-109) (2 units) and ML +215 (to win 1 unit)
They keep knocking and are going to get one on this road trip. If not for the total meltdown in track meet @ PHX this weekend, this would still be true: "They have not lost by more than six points in 2006." Denver's 8 straight ATS losses are scary, though -- nightmare vision of CHI @ PHX repeat in 2d half tonight, if Camby brings A-game and CHIs jumpshooters cool off. See that as more likely later in the road trip, though -- after Bulls get their win.

Nobody is better than Clippers over last 10 games and they would look great tonight if Detroit had won last night -- but DET/ATL result scares me into a pass. I think Pistons want to stop this NOW. Can see 92-84 DET with some 14-point quarter thrown in there somewhere for the road-weary Clips.

                          Houston Rockets -6 @ -101 (Pinnacle) 6 units

Houston is surging, winning 4 in a row and they really want to keep on a run to a playoff spot in the western conference and what a better way to do it than beat Lakers, who are standing in 8th place 5 games in front of Houston. Houston has played very well after return of Yao in the lineup. Last game they won at Philadelphia with great defence 87-81 even T'mac having a poor night by his standards. Tonight i think they will be fired up in front of their homecourt, where they have performed worse than away, but that might be about to change. In last home game they destroyed Seattle and held them down to 77 points. Lakers are on a last game of a really poor 7 game roadtrip, going 1-5 so far. Last 4 games they have lost by double digit figures. They are playing b2b after yesterdays loss at Dallas. Odom is back in the lineup for Lakers, which is a plus for them, but i don't think that will be enough against the highly motivated Rockets tonight.

                          GL everyone.

Hey Juuso! The line was not available when I wrote up my games but now that I see the number I do have some concerns. You pointed out that Houston has not played well at home and that is an understatement. I agree that eventually they will get over their home phobia start kicking ass at home and on the road but before I start laying points with them in this situation I would like to see them actually crush somebody at home. The Lakers have had a horrible road trip but they might just suck it up and try to salvage the trip with a last ditch balls to the wall effort. Houston is all about defense and good chance they will not score a lot of points so given all that I hate to take 6 points and give it to the other team. I can see a 92-87 ball game here so I would be carefull.

At first glance i liked POR, LAC and LAL spreads, but not too sure at the moment to play them.

                              CHA +6 5 units
                              MIN-2 5 units

                              adding
                              LAC +8 5 units

Brand and Kaman had a good game last night, the Wallaces a very bad one...go Clippers!

Thanks for the feedback Rich. I know covering the spread might be close, but getting odds -101 was also big factor for me. Thats almost even money and i think they have atleast 50% chance of covering. Last home game they destroyed Seattle 100-77. Ofcourse Seattle defence sucks, but holding a potent offence to a 77 total is quite good achievment. I just have a hunch T'mac and co will be fired up tonight.

Thank you, Mr. Alamo. It is immediately obvious to me that there's a really really deep bench of talent on this forum, and jumping right in there with chatty writeups is a bit on the presumptuous side, I know. I'll try to keep them lean. The process promises to help me think 'em through, and (here's an obscure and age-revealing Steely Dan reference) throw back the LITTLE ones and pan-fry the big ones. I would actually disagree. I think it is better that new members do explain why they like certain sides or totals. In my opinion, a solid writeup makes for an immediately credible source.

                                                  Welcome, and good luck tonight.

Writing them up helps me clarify in my mind why I'm gonna plop down money on a game. The process might help others but first objective is to help myself so type away!
