Memphis took a commanding lead in the 1st quarter and continued through the 2nd, but after the half Philadelphia closed the gap and it appeared their adjustments they made were going to propel them to winning the game, but in the 4th, Memphis poured it on again to take the win.

Going into the NBA Break, it is Vacation time. I will not be placing any bets until February 22nd, and even then, I need to make a decision on this season. I am only 1 win away from ending the NBA season, so do I want to risk it and push forward or just take my money and call a season. I will think on it as I have until the 22nd to decide.
Have a wonderful week and see ya after the break,

No, I wouldn't even know where to begin with that as there is no basis to compare their abilities as most have never even played together. The only time I grab some cash and just have some fun is during March Madness. Otherwise I only bet according to my systems and never deviate.

Sorry I didn't post earlier, but I have decided to end my 2010 - 2011 NBA season here on an up note.

Yes I do not want to risk my gains and feel foolish if things went south. Afterall, this is Sports Betting and at any moment things could change for the worse.
My official announcement here and of course at my website:
I have decided to end the NBA season. I thought about it for a while and although I am leaving a few percent on the table, I know if things went south I would feel so foolish.
Final Record for the 2010 - 2011 NBA Season was:
44 wins - 30 losses 59.46%
Thus ends my 2nd half of the year, MLB being the 1st half. My personal total return for the entire year, including bonuses and everything was 83.97% ROI!! It was an incredible year.
Thank you all for following and see ya next season, which will begin with MLB in April 2011.
Of course I will be posting my picks for March Madness which is right around the corner.
As always, Best of luck, to us all,

A blog really, but yes, However, I can not mention it in the open forums. I don't sale picks or anything and mostly just give advice and stuff, however SBR has told me not to list it unless I am in the Sports Promotion area or in the my profile section.
Since I do not want to lose the privilege of being a part of this community, I follow their rules.

Hey duke...I like your strategy of ending your season with a sureprofit, but can I ask why you would do that? I mean obviously your model is profitable longterm..thanks and look forward to your march madness and mlb threads

There are a few reasons, but you actually answered your own question in a broad sense. Yes, it is correct, I will win year after year, but during those times there are up and down swings. Now, if the NBA was year around then I would just keep going, however it does end and I have to pay bills. If the season was winding down and I was in a downward spiral at the time then I could end up losing for the season. Now I could possibly make it back next season, but unfortunately, I would have used some of the money for my monthly living expenses and by the time the next season came around, my bankroll would be less. So, I have many stop scenarios along the way and I will even start making tighter picks if I am still in the game towards the end of the season. The last thing I want is to work all season long and have a loss. That is just too demoralizing. So, I would rather walk away with some cash in my pocket, my head held high, and not even look back to see if it was the best choice for making the most money, because for me, it was the right choice. I am in this for a lifetime, it is my livelihood; what I do for a living. I am not just some piece of flash paper that burns brightly only to quickly fade away as we see so often in this industry.
So, that is the main reason, I will end a season early with so many games yet to be played.
Best of luck,

That does make a lot of sense Duke! I can see that you truly are a professional. Like I have said before, I think your model / system for each sport is rock - solid and i hope you continue to post for years to come!

I am getting pretty excited about March Madness this year. I always enjoy the tournament. It is the only time of the year I don't worry about ROI. Win or Lose, I concentrate on having a good time. Of course this year I am adding the complete transparency with the blog. Showing the actual formula I use and stuff. So, it should be even more exciting. Win or lose, at least it will be a good time for all and with the bonuses usually given out during March Madness, earning a little green is highly likely.
Tomorrow, I plan to start a March Madness post here at SBR. I will post the link here once I get that post going.
