Ex tends to only double up if he loses first half. If he wins first half, he'll keep 2x or sometimes even reduce it to 1x to have a guaranteed profit. It's his way of managing his money. And you'll never see him drop 10x on a game he really likes either.

I think you just need to follow what you know works for you. 1Hs seem kind of shaky and the 2H line rule that you came up with last year seemed to be pretty profitable so maybe stick with that and see how you go. You'll get it back.
