no way boston wins tonight, miami just has to many players that need to be doubled teamed leading to lots of open shots and alleyoops, its also gonna go over

Celtics are at home. Have spent way more time playing together. Don't have significant injuries. And should dominate down low and control the boards.
All of this plus Boston has been waiting all summer for this game, they're tired of everyone crowning the Heat.
I've just been waiting to place my bet because i knew the line would move because of all the hype on Miami.

-2 now at Bodog. Could be -3 or -4 by gametime.

Lebron and Wade are the only ones who would ever need to be double teamed...

Miami is missing one of their best pure shooters (Miller), plus Wade is still a little banged up.

Celtics bench will dominate Miami's, C's win by a handful

Bodog has the Miami for -2 and Boston for +2. The pre-season I think the Miami were sandbagging and not play serious until the regular season starts which is today. So everybody has a fresh start. I still have no idea how the outcome will be since they are both a strong team. Boston has the 5 all star on the team and Miami has 3 all stars but on a higher level. So it could go either way.

edit i see InTheRed also uses bodog. Not sure if bodog has the best odd for Boston, but if so I would play on bodog then.

That is an absolute lock of a bet, barring a ton of injuries. Those season win totals are usually a little low-balled because of injury factor...In this case, I believe 2 out of the big 3, would have to get hurt.

I got 1000 points this goes over. Any takers?

I think players will bet the Heat to 3. I like the Celts getting 3 at home. If this game is 2-3 weeks from now, it's a totally different matchup but new teams rarely come out gel'n. Not having Mike Miller is also a difference maker. You can't leave him to double team those other three guys. He's as big of a piece to this team as Bosh IMO.

Miami Heat may come out going nuts and going to the FT line every trip but Eastern conf champs +3 at home would be juicy. Even if you can get a 2.5 and cross the one bucket you have to be happy with your seat coming in.

True but they are basically stand-ins for Perkins. The offense doesn't go through them.

While Boston has the advantage with team chemistry and experience. Miami has the advantage that not many people are talking about: How to defend Wade, Bosh, and Lebron when on the same team.. No one knows how to yet. While they could try to stop the other players, this trio could get over 80 points alone.. I'm honestly thinking about just watching and not betting this game..

I agree, chemistry is going to be more important than some people think. It is one thing when you are playing a far weaker team. Then talent is going to get you through no matter if you have a few turn overs or trips down where the wrong guy shoots. In a close game though, I think there is some value in a veteran squad like the Celtics.

i think both are more capable offensively than perkins is though

jermaine would take and hit a lot of those open jumpers that perkins wouldnt last season and shaq will be hard to stop in and around the hoop, especially if the heat try and avoid fouling

expect to see MIA be 17 pt favs and higher this year at home and the squares will be all over MIA. MIA can very well end up 68-14 and be 39-43 ATS..
