Orlando Magic vs Portland Trail Blazers ( My Pick = Portland Trail blazers + 2.5 @ -110) : The Orlando Magic will be visting portland tonight,having lost two in a row for the second time all season.The News is that all of the players are now relatively healthy with Howard,Pietrus & Reddick making a return in the Last road game against the hawks which the magic lost SU,Nelson is also expected to start tonight.The first thing that came to my mind after the lines came out was naturally of shock because the Magic are struggling and then they go to the Rose Garden as favorites,Tracking the line movement i saw that most of the bets will be coming on the magic tonight as naturally all of the public expects them to perform better after losing two straight.But i d say that everything is just perfect here for the magic,or so it seems that 78% of the betting public is in favor of the magic right now.

I agree that the blazers have not done well so far,But at the same time The magic are also 2-8 ATS in their last 10 Road games,Add to that the fact that in the previous ten meetings between the two at home,The blazers have won 2,Lost by less than 2.5 points a few times,,and the remaining one was a magic winning by 11 but that was in 2007.If you see the recent record at home,the blazers have played the magic tough at home winning by 15 the last meeting and losing by a point in the other.It is possible that the magic win this,but it may just turn out to be by a single bucket,which would still help cover the + spread for the blazers.Good luck!

I dont think Orlados ATS matters 2-8(going into last year), they are 6-3 on the road this year, thats wins and loses, they also won 3 of the last 4 in Portland, not that that matters either since Portland is nowhere near as good as they were in past years.

But Orlando has 80% of the public behind them, so of course you wont see any of the fan proclaimed sharps backing them.

Agreed,Most games are indeed not 1 point games,but i have seen more than fair share of books opening the line at -2 in favor of Team A,Then moving it gradually to 2.5 during the course of the day,Most people end up taking the line by .5 and then game ends up with a difference of 2,so in that case everyone with 2.5 would lose and the ones who took at -2 push.Again this is an example of some of the times when i have seen this happen.Portland is indeed not the team that they were last year but at the same time,Orlando is getting too much love of the public and that did eventually result in them crapping on a favorite spread which they had against the hawks last game and ended up losing SU.No1 expected them to lose then,and No1 expects them to lose three straight tonight as well.NBA,can be funny as you know,i am just trying to have my share of the cherry.Good luck and no hard feelings with you.Indeed discussions and thoughts are welcomed here.

But as a %, since betting is a % game, how many games do you think are decided by the hook? 5%? 10%? 25%? To me it doesn't feel like that many, and i think a lot of the experienced bettors (not me) often talk about not buying points also speaks to that.

Btw, this is just me asking a question, its not even about the Orl/Port game. If it comes off argumentative its not meant to be.

can anybody recommend a book that has these similar player prop lines? I don't think US clients are welcome at 365 and for me personally, they knocked my limits down to less than 5$ per match a long time ago

I understand that,capping does drain out a person mate and especially when you are living in a country where NBA games begin only at 5.30 in the morning,plus you got work to take care of,it does at times get tiring,i have never intended to nor will ever pick up a fight with anyone over the internet because frankly it is not worth the time & effort one puts into it considering you may never get to see the person behind the screen with whom you are actually having it out online,so no point.

Coming back to your question,yes i did get burnt by the hook more than thrice or may be four times in the span of what,say 5 days or so.I am not saying that most games are decided by the hook,No,that would be probably even lesser than the % you gave for them,but we do agree that the books end up cleaning the market on that particular day.Personally,i like the blazers here because I feel Orlando,does not deserve all this public love in the first place,80% is just an insane number of people backing orlando and believe you,me,most of them with the thought that it just can't happen,Orlando can't lose two in a row,But the fact remains they did just recently and they may even continue it tonight.The blazers can do well with some crowd support and even though they haven't done much,they do have Roy who if he gets going can give Orlando more than fair share of trouble.The other thing being that even though nelson is fit and will probably play today,i don't see that being such an advantage for the magic ( Howard,Pietrus & Reddick) all played in the last game against the hawks yet the magic choked,From where i see,as of now the blazers seem to be the play.Good luck!

I do bet college hoops sometimes mate,however this play is purely a line based one for me.Ohio games tend to go over on thursday's,as shown in their record of being 10-2 on the over.The only meeting i see between these two teams totalled 153 points and ohio state won by 13.
