I'm taking the Orlando MAgic against the San Antonio Spurs tomorrow.

Orlando recently made a trade with the Phoenix Suns that brought them Hedo Turkoglu and Jason Richardson, excellent 3-point shooters, not to mention Gilbert Arenas from the Washington Wizards.

They all look happy to wear a Magic uniform who gives them a chance to contend for the NBA title and feeling joy to play basketball again.

I wasn't going to bet Orlando for a while, but they didn't look as bad as I expected against the Mavericks on a game that went down the wire. Note that Dallas is the best road team in the NBA and barely escaped with the win.

Orlando won't have a big advantage inside like they usually do against other teams because the Spurs have 3 big men on Blair/Duncan/Splitter but Howard will get his baskets and eventually draw double-teams, opening space for 3-point shots and this is where the Magic have a big advantage.

San Antonio in 2010 doesn't look as sharp defensively as they did in the past years. They are 2nd only to Cleveland on defending 3-pt shots percentage wise. They allow over 40% of the balls shot behind the arc from opponents to fall and that is going to be a huge difference maker.

Spurs will be on the tail end of a back-to-back tomorrow, flying all the way from TExas to Florida to face a fully rested team in the Magic, who finally had a day off to practice with the newly acquired players. Additionally, SPurs are 23-33 ATS on a back-to-back since 2007, I don't usually like to use stats from past years but this team hasn't changed much their starting lineup since then.

The home-team/favorite are also 4-1 ATS in the last 5 times these teams faced each other.

So I fully expect Orlando to beat the Spurs and end their 10 game winning streak and start fresh with this new group of players.

50% from 3-pt land and the new players made a huge impact to assure then the W.

my initial lean was to take magic -7.5 too at +190 but didn't. but i did take them in a pleaser Magic -6 and Jags -13 for football $20 to win like $120 or something lol. i'm happy i cashed first half and game though made a nice nickel on that game that should be good for xmas presents

I do not follow the NBA much anymore to tell you the truth. I've simply lost interest.

Of course I check up on my friend Lakes (LB to most of you) as often as possible. He's one of the best around!
