I the Knicks will have a shot at cracking the 8th or possibly even 7th seed this year. They will be very inconsistent. They're gonna win some games and Amare's gonna be quite the showman. And other nights they will be dejected & sloppy. Should be interesting...

I'm from Chicago so I'm really psyched about the upcoming Bulls season, that's for sure.

they definetely have chance for playoffs..dont look just for Amare..Felton is the most under-rated pg in NBA and with Randolph Azubike and Turiaf they have size and have depth to gain playoff spot

          dude felton is a pg..

by the way, knicks will make the playoffs..6-8 seed..
felton is a good pg and a decent pg on that d'antoni ball can do wonders..
NYK is #10 in scoring last season with an ugly line up so offense will not be a problem..
the key here is DEFENSE..although i dont see them being a top defensive team, i believe there will be huge improvements on defense without hurting the up tempo style

why? randolph can play big and he is mad at swatting shots that can lead to fast breaks, Turiaf is an energy guy, amare although not that good at defense is definitely >>>>>>>>>>> than david lee defensively..
Timofey mozgov, although untested in NBA, he looks really good both sides..
On the back court, Felton is way tougher than duhon, azubuike also tries to block shots..

so yeah..definitely i wanna ride them on the season start, before they become slight favorites (that is if the bookies believe they are still heavy underdogs)

Agreed with Felton being a great defensive PG. Other parts of your arguments not so much...

Randolph has sky-high potential. But he is raw and unproven. If he is what he can be, then sure. But for now he is more a swat happy guy than anything, a mini-camby if you may. Need work on help defense and don't think he got his defensive fundamentals down in GS

Turiaf... nice role player i suppose

Amare can't be more pitiful on the defensive end. Rebounding should not be an issue with his athleticism, and he looks like allan houston at times. I may be giving him too much ****, but i am really seeing nothing but bad on the defensive end for the knicks with amare at the main piece.

timofey mozgov.. apologize for my ignorance but never heard of him, and wouldn't believe he would have an impact until he proves otherwise...

while i see where you are getting at, i think you are being overly optimistic wtih the knicks defense. Felton is a great pickup. in regards to having "great improvement" on defense, it would take a lot of shocking maturity to get there and I don't think they will get there especially with dantoni

playoff hopes though i think they should remain hopeful. East overall is overrated and it's way too top heavy. few teams stand no chance for the playoff (toronto and detroit i supposed?) a decent team like theknicks should make the playoff

With the team as it is today, I would say they dont get in. If they do by chance, it wont be any higher than 7, and they will lose 1st round.

I agree that Randolph can e a swat happy guy, but still..someone who can finally block shots for knicks..
So I guess that's a plus no matter where you take it..

Also, I did not say that they will be one of the great defensive teams bro..because I don't think they will..
I'm just saying that there will be a BIG improvement on their defense..
It's easy to look better defensively when your comparison(last years team) plays zero defense right?
Sorry if I'm wrong..let's see next month..

knicks will make the playoffs, barring a long-term injury to amare

and im not even a knicks fan...but they got so much better this year, its hard to ignore that

philly is my dark horse to make the playoffs
