I've bet a fair amount on league MVP's in the past, and I can tell you that Durant should be closer to +300 before you pull the trigger. There are so many things that can happen during the season that you can't account for. Here a just a FEW:

- Injury to player
- Team he's playing on vastly underachieves
- Player loses his motivation for whatever reason
- Players falls out of favor with media for something he says or does
- Somebody else has a once in a lifetime year (MOST LIKELY SCENARIO)
- Players around him don't provide the necessary support
- Something happens in his personal life that affects him

There are plenty of more factors, but if you're going to have your money tied up for that long, you should really make sure you're getting the best of it.
