CLE -3.5. So what if Lebron has never beaten the Heat in Miami? Miami is the worst team in the NBA, and Cleveland’s Mike Brown is copying the Spurs process of not peaking early and peaking during the playoffs. Cleveland has begun to step it up, while Miami, losers of 13 straight, has already given up on the season.

NO -9. New Orleans is trying to join the elite teams. That means they (feel it necessary to) bring it every night. Their record since mid-December speaks for itself. In that period their ATS and SU records, game for game, are an identical 13-3. When they win, they cover. And today they’ll win.

St. Peters +7.5 ... Fairfield is 0-4 ATS at home ... These two teams look about even so +7.5 looks like a gift.

Pepperdine +8 ... Pepp. averages 16 more ppg than Santa Clara and 21 more on defense ... Hopefully the +8 makes the difference here.

Spurs ML (been kinda flaky, but gurantee that they'll win against bobcats)
Boston ML (both teams really flaky, but stats show that boston will win)
NOH -9 (sorry, but MIL just suck in my eyes, and are just slowly declining from their great start of the season)

Adding

LAC +3 (Utah sucks on the road, and clippers have been playing great ball lately...even though i still believe their win over the phoenix suns was a fluke, they aren't as bad as their record shows)
GSW -13 (they'll blow them out like nothing, hands down, unless its another fluke like the nets/pistons or suns/clippers
Orlando +2 (both teams are kind of flaky but I can't trust detroit ever since their horrible loss to the knicks...with home advantage, i believe the magics will cover)
CLE -3 1/2 (this almost seems too good to be true...maybe they're just ****ing with us >.<")
Denver +4 1/2 (no bynum, no more elite team status...plus, AI > Bryant teamplayer-wise)

Jazz -3 It's time to step up and win on the road. This team has what it takes to beat anyone in the NBA @ home or the other teams house. They need to play better D fence and get that Team Chemistry back. Clippers are still a beat up team.......

Detroit BASKETBALL -2.5 It's time to wake up and play some team basketball and get back to that low turnover b-ball the pistons are so good at. The magic are hot, but still beatable at home with a 9-8 record (16-9 on the road ) Look for a lower scoring game, detroit having a PA 90.1 and magic being 100.5

Basketball Parlay of the Day Contest - Monday, 1/21/08

Listen up, basketball experts. Starting Wednesday (Jan 2) we will commence with a Hoops Parlay Contest with the monthly grand prize a 22” widescreen LCD monitor. The rules are simple:

1. Check in the NBA BASKETBALL HANDICAPPING FORUM each day for the daily thread to be posted by LT Profits. Lines will be posted by 11:00 a.m. (ET) each day. Plays may be posted before that, but the official posted lines will be used for grading.

2. Posted spreads and totals are the only eligible plays for grading. Both NBA and NCAA games included.

3. Two-game parlay picks, laying 10 to win 26. Post entire parlay at same time, no open parlays.

4. Here’s the catch: Your play must include a write-up, doesn’t have to be long, just a sentence or two about why you’re making your play. Here’s a THREAD from last year’s contest to be used for an example.

5. And here’s the fine print:

Must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
One entry per household and IP address.
Must use lines posted in daily thread by LT Profits
Maximum one parlay pick per day, minimum 15 parlay plays needed to be eligible for monthly prize.
Tiebreaker - Win % of individual parlay legs. If still tied, combatants will carry on a head-to-head parlay match until winner determined.
All decisions made by SBR with regards to this contest are final.
SBR employees eligible to participate but are not eligible to win the monthly prize.

lt i won yest but im still 5-5 on standings

hawks/port over 182. number is wayy 2 low both teams r putting up mid-high 90's in points. defenses r avg and this 1 will go over

cavs -3.5 the way the cavs been playing and the way heats been playing... i dnt get y this line is so low. basically its a gift and im throwing it in on the parlay

NEW YORK KNICKS +8: Knicks are playing their best ball of the season, going 4-1 both SU and ATS last five including a blowout of Detroit. Look to avenge one of the worst losses in franshise history when they scored only 59 points in Boston.

NIAGRA +3: Look for Purple Eagles to bounce back stron after getting upset by Canisius Friday. Niagra is 3-0 ATS and 2-1 SU as an underdog this year, and they won here in Marist last season when the road team won both regular season meetings.

Cavs -3.5...Miami has been looking awful even with the return of Shaq. They are 0-10 SU in last ten games and only 2-12 ATS since Christmas...Cleveland has been under 50% ATS for the year with coach constantly messing with his starting lineups and stifling any consistancy...However they are 8-2 SU in last 10 games. with a small spread against an awful Miami team I see Cleve as the obvious choice..

Niagra +3...Plenty of stats favoring Niagra here...First their offense produces 10+ more points a game than Marist. Their FG% is slighltly lower in both 2pts and 3 pts, yet there free throw % is almost 15% higher (This weekend saw many games decided by foul shots) Both teams score in the 70's so expect fouls to become an issue...Not counting a disasterous defeat in their last away game at lowly Canisius, Niagra does travel extremely well winning games over proven squads St Johns and Santa Clara...Also Niagra won the first game in the meeting between the two and is 7-2 ATS in its last 9 (including fluke loss at Canisius..GL

Georgetown over Syracuse
I think Georgetown looked great against Notre Dame. I think they will roll and cover easily against a bad road team in Syracuse.

Texas over Oklahoma
OK is 0-5 ATS as an underdog. I think Texas will barely cover with some late free throws.

Yesterday was the first time this month that I went 0-2 in my parlay games. I am looking to get back on track tonight with a 2-0 winner.
