so a city who had the best NFL team ever (72 dolphins) and next year's best NBA team ever sucks as a sports town?

Miami is a terrible basketball town.
Dan Le Batard even says so.

you would think with the miami heat being so star studded and in demand it would open up other opportunities in the franchise for these people to continue their roles with the team. god knows they probably spent several years hanging their heads in shame and not bringing home ample commissions dude to the horrible ticket sales they've had recently. i'm going on the assumption these were people who had been with the team for longer than this season, and in that context it seems like a very shitty move.

The staff really didn't do anything except acted as pawns in the transactions by taking the money, and giving away the tickets. This is what happens to you when you have no real skills. You get used, abused, and exploited. Then fired.

I didn't buy my Heat season tickets because our sales guy was so nice. I bought them because we signed Wade/Bosh and knew LeBron was coming.

Once they sold the season tickets (season tickets are good for all home games) there is no reason to keep the sales staff to sell a non-existent product. But they could have offered them janitor or selling merchandise or food serving jobs in the arena.

This is a private business, not a government or union job.
Assisting them in getting other jobs was a great move.

Because then stadiums would be filled with rich assholes instead of sports fans.

If with religion you mean belief system, your belief system is your religion. Again, it matters not what it is. You believe in it, you are loyal to it, would defend it, and yet have no proof of it, other than that, at one point or another, you chose to believe in it. Self-hypnosis. What if there were a snapping of fingers that broke the hypnosis?

100% agree. Just because they were undefeated doesn't mean they were the best team ever.
And Miami is a crap sports town.

The only possible problem of this I can think of would be a less enthusiastic crowd, but this is theory. Are there any studies or articles discussing evidence on that theory?
