i havent read an article about this that has been in context. i was at the game. i saw everything that happened and trust me, the guy and the girl deserved it all if not more.
he entered the game at the beginning and everything was fine at first. insults were thrown, he soaked it in. no big deal.
then he starts walking around the entire stadium with his girl under his arm as if to show himself off, trying to grab more attention. people should have ignored him, but instead insulted him more which only fueled the fire. at this point im still thinking, 'whatever, the dude obviously has some attention issues, but who cares. he hasnt done anything wrong.' i still dont feel bad that people are harassing him, but i guess he didn't either.
after about an inning or two he and his girlfriend finally make it back to their seats in left field. people there (i was standing on the home run porch) immediately notice, and continue the chants. on his way up, some dude who is walking down bumps him a bit and his beer spills a little. this is when things turned ugly.
the guy in the james jersey immediately turns around and throws his beer at the guy, now at the bottom of the steps, who bumped him. just about everybody stands up in that area at this point. at least 3 people got into serious verbal arguments with the guy and are confronting him. things are much more elevated at this point, and i think to myself, the cops better get up there cause things could get really bad really quickly.
they send a ticket guy up there to check their tickets, looking for any reason to get them out of their. apparently that was their legit seats, cause he left. in the video you can see a big guy in a green shirt about 10 rows down from them. hey sends some serious threats, including telling the jersey guy to come down to him and fight. jersey boy and his girl stay where they are.
finally, after 5 more minutes of this, one cop comes up to escort them out. they resist at first, and then another cop comes and they slowly start walking down the steps.
they take their time, all the while hes popping his jersey and his girlfriend gives the crowd the middle finger multiple times. about half way down some guy says something and the girl reacts. she throws a slap/punch at the guy that hits his chest, he throws her off knowing that he cant retaliate. she comes at him three or more times each time he throws her off. the cops watch for about 20 seconds, as does jersey boy, until finally they restrain her and escort them out quickly now.
at this point, everyone in the area runs over to watch these two get escorted out. once outside, i heard some guy took his shirt off and ran at the two, only to be intercepted by the cops.
suffice to say, these two deserved every bit of harassment they got. they wanted it, and they enticed it on. the girl should have sat in jail for the night, as if the roles were reversed and that guy thrown the punch at her, he certainly would have.
all the articles about this incidence are putting more of the blame on the crowd at not these two. i was there. they wanted attention, and they wanted to fight with people.
while i was watching this, i was secretly hoping people would oblige their second desire...
Leprick's jersey has been ripped from this idiot's back by an angry man after he left the stadium.
