Hes just afraid of being judged like Bosh and James so he took the easy way out.

I think he was going to stay with the Lakers regardless, he had too good of a thing going there. Plus I'm not sure if his young daughter is cured yet, but if she have not, no way he is leaving LA. Only reason he went there first was b/c of her. He prob just wanted to check out free agency so the Lakers can up their offer to try and lure him back.

the real funny part is, what would happen if fisher would have left? The reaction from guys like you would be classic. He obviously had no reason to leave, but you would be so sad if he did.

“I have decided to continue with Kobe, continue with our teammates and the fans of Los Angeles,” Fisher said in a statement on his website.
“At the end of the day, there’s one person I could not turn away from,” Fisher said. “Kobe Bryant asked me to stay but supported whatever decision I made. He and I have played together for 11 seasons, came into the league together as kids, and has been loyal to me even when others had doubts.”

Kobe had stated several times that the Lakers must keep Fisher regardless of the terms. So this deal was effectively done when Kobe put down his mandate.

He was offered about $2.5 mil by the Lakers, and was offered about $3.6 by the Heat after they restructured Mike Miller's contract to get Fish more cash. Fisher was asking for a $10 mil, 2 year deal.

Bottom line, Kobe put down the mandate to keep Fisher at the end of the season no matter what, so it was a done deal for the Lakers then. Fisher is reportedly getting $10.5 mil for 3 years, with an option for the 3rd year. All things considered, that ain't bad for a 36 year-old NBA guard who's lost a step.

But he's among the elite in the league with the money on the line, and his leadership and character ranks at the top of the league also.

So if you ask me, the Lakers got a deal, and Fish can smoothly move into an assistant coaching or a booth job with the Lakers when he retires.

                                  Everybody wins.

dont think he took the easy way out ,he made the right decision, everyone has different reason for signing and his is ;he fits in good with the lakers and knows his role but the most important reason is he has a sick child and he needs to be close to him, thats why couple years ago he got traded anfd wanted to come back to lakers for that reason,so i wouldnt call signing with lakers an easy way out when u have a sick child to consider
