1- Bynum doesn't HAVE to be part of a deal. But with his injury history, it's not like he's untouchable. He was basically non-existent in 2 of their last 3 runs to the championship. Therefore he has obviously lost value. Also, the Lakers have defintitely put serious thought into trading him on more then 1 occasion (jason kidd, Chris Bosh etc)
2- Jerry Buss is getting old and he isn't going to sit by and watch the Heat run away with 3 or 4 championships in the next 5 years. I can promise you that. He has proven over and over he'll do what it takes to win games. The Lakers are one of the most valuable franchise in sports and bring in stupid money on tickets and merchandise every year. Imagine getting a guy like Melo; you become even more popular and bring in even more money. There are ways to make it work. They would have to pull of a trade with either the Nuggets or do a 3-way deal with the Nugs and another team. Or they can pick him up and make some moves to dump salary.

3- How can 2 pure scorers co-exist? What you don't realize is that Carmelo Anthony is one of the best in the game at playing off the ball. Not with it. Carmelo posts up, is a great catch and shoot guy, and basically does the best of his damage playing off the ball. There is no debate; Carmelo is unbelievable playing off the ball, . There's a reason the Nuggets made that trade for Iverson a couple years ago. It's because Carmelo doesn't have to have the ball in his hands for 12 seconds to make something happen. He's at his best with a guy who is ball dominant.

I think we also need to take a moment and realize that LA hasn't always been a title winning powerhouse. Sure they ahve been the most consistent, but everybody has off years. Look at the 90's for example where they didn't win a single title. The Lakers of the 90s were what the Dallas Mavericks of today are. Can win in the regular season, but can't win a title you say their life. So we shouldn't expect for them to always contend for a title, because in reality they won't. So it's very possbile and realistic that they just may have to watch the Heat for many years to come.

Kobe will be 33 next season. He can't carry the perimeter scoring load forever. Also, you are confused about Carmelo as a player. i have already explained to you that Carmelo plays at his best off the ball, and does the majority of his scoring off the ball; MEANING, he moves without the ball, gets himself into good positions, and generally scores quickly or off the catch. He gets set up by other guys. He's a catch and shoot guy or a guy who gets position on the elbow or close to the block and then receives the ball. Guy's like him are terrific in half-court offenses like the Lakers. He would thrive in our offense. Basically, A guy like Melo fits perfectly with Kobe Bryant and the Lakers.
