Saying that Miami won't win the championship next year isn't bold
Noticing a a fair number of people talking like it is. Odds makers even have them as most likely NOT winning it. Since there seem to be a lot of Heat haters now, I'll probably putting up futures offerings through the SBR escrow account when the season's closer. Be ready to put your points where your mouth is ;-)

The Station casinos already have a prop wager on this:

Miami Heat to win the NBA championship in 2010-2011

    YES +200
    NO -250

Therefore, you are most certainly correct that people saying Miami will NOT win the NBA championship certainly aren't going out on any sort of limb.

Miami has about a 30% chance to win the NBA championship.

However, if anyone is foolish enough to want to take Miami to win it all at even money, I would be willing to wager up to $100K saying they do NOT. The tough part would be getting some entity both sides can trust to hold the $200K in escrow.

Miami is not a lock for the Championship but if they can get it together and recruit some decent supporting players to support the big 3 they can make it up the conference finals/ possibly the finals.

It might take them 2 years to work it all out together though.

I'd say the Heat have a 40%'ish chance to win the Eastern Conference and maybe 25% to win the Finals.

But no one knows since they have not even started to play yet..lol

Too many things can go wrong... durable players can still go down with an unfortunate injury. 1 of them down and they are down to the "2 kings" and a bunch of servants. neither james nor wade are spot up shooters.. .there are a lot o funcertainty.

I will tell you right now that barring any serious injury they will win the East. I will wager that huge.

There is an official SBR escrow account, and a pinned thread for such p2p bets: http://forum.sbrforum.com/sbr-points/

Don't think Miami can win it all next year, but they should be at least in second round of playoffs.

After get the big 3 in free agency and spending all that money. Do you actually think this will be it? Riley knows what type of players are needed to win championships. He knows that the Heat are still lacking a PG and a real Center and a bench. After all this investment they will get the necessary players, Fish Iverson Miller to get this ring. Put the futures bet in while the line is still low. Do bet 100K like a dumb ass but 1-2 unit is a good bet
