how do you trade beasley when he was slowly coming into his own. Hes still a little immature but he would be a great backup or a solid starter, and in return only get a second round pick and a better 1st round pick

Not sure if "mistake" is the word that is coming to the mind of the Heat organization and their fans right now.
I suppose they should be upset Kobe didn't void his contract and sign with them too?

Free up a little more cap space. There's just no room for Beasley as a starter.

Beasley is a serial killer.
He plays with no emotion and a blank stare.
I would have traded him for a 3rd round pick...he is going no where.

This move was necessitated by the acquisition of LeBron James and Chris Bosh as the team had to shed payroll in order to make the numbers work. In exchange, the T'Wolves could be getting a steal as they'll get the former second overall pick in the draft for basically nothing. He has been disappointing, yes, but he is entering just his third NBA season and should improve upon the 14.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists

its a great move for the heat, they get a top 3 pick (considering the pick comes from the timberwolves) in a year or two for a guy they dont need anymore

the key to winning a championship is guard play and always will be, yeah rondo was young when the celtics won but hes one of the best defenders and a great facilitator, i dont see any more free agents being on rondos status

I don't think LeBron James and Dwayne Wade are going to suffer without a pure point guard,
both are more than capable of pg duties

Ah and this could well be the amaing part of all this; if these 3 are willing to put there money where there mouths are and say sign 5/75 deals, meanind each would make about 12.5 in the first year, the heat will still have about 10-15 mill in caps space.
That allows them to sign two players; add in a MLE towards the start of the season and the possiblity of adding a player another player via the the about 6M trade exception they get from the beasley deal.

I'm assuming that the swap of 1st round draft picks in the future is the Wolves call. I haven't seen a link to confirm this, but the Heat wanted to give away Beasley for cap space.

guess they think they can buy a championship like boston did when they got their big 3 together, but the difference with boston, they have the players to make it happen but miami coesnt have the players to make it happen,it would be justice if this team doesnt even make the playoffs

I hope lebron becomes basketballs Ken Griffey jr. Left his team (mariners, although not his home team) and completely cursed and injured for the rest of his career. Although I loved griffey and he wasn't the Dbag that Lebron is.

I know your being sarcastic, but thats not Kobe. Kobe is a leader, the lakers are his team, if those clowns wanted a title they should have taken an MLE and went to LA.

Oh the things we forget. Kobe wanted to be traded in 2007 was it? And he only wanted to go to teams were ready made. Meaning teams he could win a championship with. Do I fault him for that? Heck no! But I will remind people when they give Lebron hell for doing the same thing, while saying Kobe would never do that. If Lebron was wrong, so was Kobe. I have no problem with either one of them ...

One thing I haven't seen discussed in all these threads is DEFENSE. Yes Lebron is a good defender but Wade and Bosh are not known for playing defense. Well maybe Wade gets a few steals mostly by taking chances. But what I'm talking about is the team defense concept. That's what worked so well for Boston after they got the "Big Three". Garnett was known for his defense but Ray Allen and Paul Pierce were not. When they came together in Boston it was the defense first mindset that they all bought into along with all the role players they had and have still. I mean even Eddie House was seen playing defense. Sure it was Allen's outside shooting along with Garnett's mid range game and Paul Pierce at Crunchtime time that carried the Celtics in 2008 and almost in 2010. But it wouldn't have put them over the hump without the great team defense. (though I 've had issues with excessive contact they get away with). If great scoring was all that you needed to win then the Phoenix Suns would have won multiple titles by now. Just something to consider during all this fallout.

Kobe was saying that stuff to light a fire under Mitchs ass to get some players in there, and it worked, Kobe was never going anywhere. Lebron on the other hand knew he was going to Miami, and lead everyone on a wild goose chase, including a few billionaire owners.

kobe wanted to play with someone capable, but still as a clear cut number 1 guy, unlike lebron who went to a team that has the guys almost the same level as him with no clear number 1 guy
