Report: Bulls and Boozer agree to deal
J.A. Adande reports that Carlos Boozer joining the Bulls is a "done deal."
No word yet on the specifics of the deal, and it remains to be seen whether this will be the big move that lures LeBron James to Chicago. Either way, the Bulls just upgraded their frontcourt dramatically.

I'll take it as a Bulls fan. They had to come away with something this offseason.

Better city, fans, and the Bulls always owned the Jazz

Oh well as a diehard Bulls fan I'll take it, I got greedy thinking either wade/bosh/lebron would come.

Chicago needs a power scorer to be a contender, not Boozer

Boozer is a fantastic pick and pop guy who will compliment Rose and Lebron if they are lucky. He is slightly below Bosh/Gasol level, but an upgrade over Jamison/Odom level. He also will mesh nicely with Noah. Combined with the new coaching hire and the Bulls could formidable with or without James. Maximus Locke

Are you serious? In what way?

I mean, would you rather live in Salt Lake City or Chicago (assuming you are not a mormon)?

Lebrick has to be getting out of Cle or he is done. The East is gettting stronger and Cleveland is done. No Championships for America's Queen.

Not talking about living, talking about basketball, this is what they are playing. Watch Boozer want be as productive in Chicago and everyone will consider this contract a bust.

how do you figure he won't be as productive? He and Rose will complement each other very well in my opinion.

Boozer-loser & Chicago deserve each other. Chicago- are you f-king blind??? Now you're proud that this creature, this lowlife will wear the bulls jersey? This major piece of SHIT that robbed blind Gordon Gund? And you happy to see him in Chicago? That's proves ones and for all what kind of people live there. Get yourself some pride clowns.

Boozer already peaked. It's a good pickup for the Bulls, but the fan should not raise their expectation.

Good signing but if they end up without lebron (and we alrewady know they wont' get wade) then they will have hard time contending.

Last year he had the best fg % of his career, averaged the most assists of his career, the 3rd most rebounds of his career, and the 3rd most points of his career. He was right in line with the rest of his career averages in steals, blocks, and minutes. He also averaged his 3rd most free throws per game and shot his best free throw percentage since his days with cleveland. There were only 5 guys in the entire NBA that averaged more than 11 rebounds per game and he was one of them. Only 2 of those guys averaged more points but Boozer shot the better percentage. I don't know how you can say he's peaked.

A really nice pickup for the Bulls. I had completely forgot Boozer was a FA until I just read that. Him playing with Noah will make that front court pretty strong. Now they just need Salmons back.

I love the fact that we got him, but I do think we are paying him a tad too much. We went into panic mode this morning after the Wade/Bosh announcement and had him signed within a few hours by offering more than what he should've gotten. It doesn't matter much now, but it will when Noah's contract is up next year and when Rose will eventually be needing a raise from $5.5M per year. We will eventually dump Deng to clear salary which is a shame because he's a very solid player but is definitely being paid too much. Aside from the money aspect, I think it's a great signing. He has wanted to play here since there were trade rumors about him last year, and I think he will fit in perfectly. We've needed an inside scorer ever since Elton Brand left and he has the muscle that we've been lacking in the paint (skinny Noah got dominated by the likes of Perkins/Davis/Shaq the last couple years in the playoffs). I'd like to think Boozer will only get better on the Bulls playing alongside Noah who is the best defensive center he will have played with. I honestly think we are a better team than the Heat right now... our Rose/Boozer PG/PF combo really isn't that far behind Wade/Bosh, and with Noah/Deng/Gibson/Johnson we have way more depth than the Heat who will have to fill their roster with min salary players. I expect us to sign a SG like J.J. Redick soon too as well. And if LeBron were to announce he's coming to Chicago tomorrow, well... GG NBA. Sry for the rant, I get really into it when it comes to my teams.

It actually looks like the Nets are going to be the only team that walks away from the summer free agency empty handed.

They needed to get a PF who could score, so this pick up was a decent move based on who was still available to them. And I agree with jcubs that they should try to sign JJ Redick at SG. They need a good outside shooter to round out their team.
