Phil must know some inside info. Lakers must be getting someone good through Free Agency. Let's see what changes they bring. It will be interesting.

phil is not the type of coaches who would retire on loosing note. I have a feeling Lakers are getting some solid players this season or he wouldn't have come back. He is calling it a last stand so i dont think he will go out on loosing note.

Phil Jackson will retire when Kobe Bryant retires. All basketball fans knew he was staying put.

He retired on a "losing note" once before. Don't get caught up into thinking that the Lakers simply can't lose because it's Phils last season. Phil is the best, but still human. He said all along that it would depend on his health and that he would make his decision this week. Nobody knows what will happen this season... or offseason for that matter...

True. But this time he has no intention of coming back. All i am saying is they must have some targets in mind to defend their title next year specially now that we know farmar, shannon brown wont be in laker uniform next season.

This dude, Phil Jackson, is one wonderful dude. Class act in every way. What a coach. Bill Parcells is my favorite NFL football coach, and Phil Jackson is my fav NBA coach.

Even thought I am a huge Bulls fan, and Jackson got us 6 NBA Championships, part of me think he is really over rated. It isn't difficult to win NBA Championships when you have the best player in the league (MJ and now Kobe), and a great team (72-10 Bulls and now basically all-star team lakers).
