Given the rarity of it, I think that would only make things fair. Refs won't be as intimidated by the home crowd booing and so on.

Not really...one of the teams should have home court advantage so that teams have an incentive to try hard in the regular season...otherwise they would just simply try making the playoffs and not try as hard.
