Lakers in game 4 - why not?
Why do you think the Lakers won't win the next two games (and the series, 4-1)?

From what I've seen, Allen got hot from 3-point land and that is the only reason the Celtics won a game in this series.

What are people seeing on the court that suggests that Boston can take game 4 over? I feel like a lot of people are betting with their emotions on game four. I don't buy that just because a team desperately needs a win, that makes them any more likely to win it.

Looking for reasons (beyond "feelings") why I should not place a big bet on the Lakers ML in game 4. Thoughts appreciated.

Paul Pierce is due to a HUGE game.

    So is Ray Allen.

only way the lakeshow will beat the fix is to come out and play like how they played utah jazz in game 3 - comeout shooting, early offense kinda thing. otherwise the zebras will make sure lakers get into foul trouble and the C's get the 50/50 calls.

Celtics don't need the lousy refs favoritism to win anything.
They didn't have it in Game 2 and didn't have it in the Cleveland or Orlando series.
Last night's problem was just an off night with a low shooting percentage.
Celtics shot 43.8% FG and 22.2% threes. Talking about far less than their average.
KG was the only one who played over par.
The Cavs series was just like this 1 loss, 2 win, 3 loss..
although I do believe the Celtics need to win the next two at Boston.

I don't know if you guys are aware of this but Rivers sent a formal letter to NBA head office about the refs not calling the Lakers illegal screens as fouls while they did so against Boston.
"It's huge," Rivers said. "We've had all three games where one of our quote-unquote Big Three has not been able to play.

"Last night, Paul was never in his rhythm. He couldn't be. He played for four minutes, he was back on the bench, played for five minutes. I mean, I played Paul at times last night when I should not have had him on the floor with four fouls, but I had no choice. You've got to get him on the floor at some point.

"But it clearly -- you know, we watched film today, and I showed Paul, it's funny. I said 'Paul, that's a driving lane. You've got to get to the basket.' His response was: 'I was worried about getting another foul.' It's tough to play that way."
"I think it was a ton of moving screens they got away with," Rivers said the day after the Celtics' 91-84 loss to the Lakers in Game 3 put the Celtics behind 2-1 in the best-of-7 series. "As far as off-the-ball action ... you are not allowed to hold, you are not allowed to bump, and you are not allowed to impede progress. I read that this morning, and I'm positive of it. So, you know, when that happens it has to be called."

Rivers said he had sent a tape to the league office documenting several instances in which the Lakers were not called for moving screen violations, a type of offensive foul. By his count, the Celtics were called for one such violation and the Lakers none. . . .

Rivers also continued to sound incredulous that Lakers coach Phil Jackson had complained about the foul calls against Kobe Bryant in Game 2 (Jackson called them "unusual fouls") when Bryant racked up five personals, noting that foul trouble had impacted his own team much more than it had the Lakers.

"I think he [Phil Jackson] is good, I think we're all pretty good at it," Rivers said. "But listen, if Phil Jackson says something the day before and it happens, I hope that has nothing to do with the officials."
"I think what we all want is just consistency. It's tough to get that, but I think that's what everybody wants."

The refs could certainly be one thing but I think we finally see the C's big three/four come together. KG, PP, Allen and Rondo have not all put a game together yet. We've seen one or two of them have a decent game but not all. I think you see a more aggressive Pierce based on Rivers comments with the other 3 getting good games as well. KG woke up the last game which I believe will carry over to game 4. I agree must wins don't mean much, see Flyers tonight, however I think Celtics get it done and this one goes 7 games.

Lakers lose next one, win the following and take the crown in LA.

                    That is my prediction.

Celtics are the better team and are getting hosed. 2 out of the 3 games the calls went to LA. and the first game was neutral. if the celts get the calls tomorrow they will win by 15, if its neutral again they will win by a handfull

My fear is the whole world (almost) will/should be on Boston. It seems way too easy IMO. That is what scares me..... but if LT likes it...................

Throw a little on the Lakers ML, and just enjoy the game.

Notwitstanding the ref's bias and the NBA wanting to extend the series, the Celts, similar to game one, shot terrible from the field in game three. In game one they were 1 for 13 from down down town and in game three Allen was 0-13. If Allen would have shot 30% Tuesday it would have made things very interesting. Don't forget the Celtics got it down to one at lease twice in the 4th on Tuesday.

For me, lean Boston. If I can find a - 3 I may have a small go.

As always, GL to all tonight.

Must win game for the Celtics, but the Lakers are a better overall team in my opinion. Tough call, I like Celtics here though.
