Along with most ever person in the nation, I watched the lakers own the celtics in game 1 last night. I pride myself on bening a huge NBA fan, in fact I never miss a game. In that fame last night I felt like I was watching a team that was still drunk from the night before out on the court. I think doc rivers just got to a point that he didn't even want to watch anymore. Kevin Garnett played the worst I have ever seen him play ever. My question is do you guys think they can bounce back and make this a series after what we saw last night? And on a side note, I took the lakers last night but I still want to see a series worth the talk.

Game was changed when Ray Allen went out w/3 early fouls. I don't have the box score in front of me but if I remember right I think the score was 39-35 when Allen picked up his 3rd foul. Certainly manageable at that point. From there offensive spacing became horrible due to the fact that there were no outside shooters in the game other than pierce. Defense could collapse on the Rondo drive and dish at the same time b/call 5 celtics were inside of 16 feet.
On defense I think the adjustment will be to have Garnett keep a body on Gasol the whole game instead of helping on defense. Similar to Perkins worrying about Dwight Howard only. Or Pierce guarding James in Cleve series.
It is all about adjustments if the c's make em, then they have a shot. If they don't the it will be 2-0 heading to BostonComment -

I agree that rebounding is a big issue but the celtics managed against Howard when they were up against the magic. I think it just comes down to rondo schooling people in the paint so it opens up the outside shot, Garnett being as gangster as he can on gasol, pierce drawing dumb pointless fouls and putting the lakers in a position to go to the bench, and Ray Allen making shots that make the commentators pan to his crazy ass mom yelling on the sideline with her bedazzled jersey. And oh yeah, controlling Kobe. If they can do all that, then I think they can win this next one and the whole series. I am pulling for the celtics to win the series but where I put my money might be a different story.Comment -

Lakers always do a great job maintaining the star point guards at home. It's on the road when they collapse. I don't even know if 6 points is enough. For the celtics to cover you need it to be a 1-3 point game in the last seconds that way if celtics miss and foul they make 2 free throws to lose by 5. Question is do you feel the celtics will keep it a 1-3 point game or have the lead going down the end? Tough call.Comment -
