    Lamar Odom is very smart
If this guys motor was consistent, he'd be a perennial all star

sure is. when he puts forth some effort he is top notch. my only complaint is he tends to be lacadasicle sometimes. when he is motivated the guy plays like an all star.

Just watch him move without the ball against the zone. He understands the concepts of what they're trying to do just as well as anyone.

He is what I would call a great "utility" player. Yes he does have great perception of the game. His physical talent is matched by his ability to think on the floor.

guy must be frustrating as hell to coach. you know what he can bring to the table yet he gets lazy at times.

no, he's not smart at all. he's talented. but if he were smart, he'd play the right way every game.

                This

If you lived in Las Vegas around the time he got recruited to UNLV, your perception of him would be extremely different.
