Favorite on the spread should be at 60% public and the underdog should be at 40% public . So with Boston being 50%+ that usually would move the line quite a bit. I am thinking they want everyone to bet on Boston tonight because they know Cleveland is winning big tonight?. Any thoughts?

Why don't you check the stats here at SBR-they seem as complete and updated as any others available? I would agree that the line hasn't moved in an effort to "balance" out the bets-as in they're figuring Bos at 7.5 is a sucker bet. You'd think Cavs should take it following a bit of the zig zag theory and the theory that LBJ and crew get off their freakin golden asses...Good luck peeps.

Rockman, consensus plays on covers is not public perception. It is merely a contest covers runs and should not be used at all.

Everyone wants to know consensus and public numbers...... Why??? It is so overused. In a big playoff headliner game like this, the number is meaningless. There are so many other factors to consider.

Line movement is one thing, but public consensus? Get over it.

30 cents at +350 is only about 1.5%. The equivalent of moving from -110 to -115.

Point #3
50/50 action will probably not the move the line. Only if there are large single sharp bets on one side. But again, you really trust the covers or 5Dimes or sbrodds consensus numbers? You really want to gamble your own money based on a percent that may or may not be accurate, recently refreshed, and correlated?

boston is the clear play here. They had a line liek this before and ended up winning by 20+.. cleveland isn't coming out strong tonight IMO
