covers.com/articles/featureArticle.aspx?theArt=188978 Yup the NBA isnt shady
No it is not shady.
Everything is on the up and up.
Never had a time I questioned the integrity of the NBA.

Okay, seriously. WHY DO WE BET ON THIS SHIT????
I was going to say maybe it's because I've loved the NBA since I was a little kid. But that's not true. I was a hockey girl through and through. It wasn't until Kareem et al that I even knew about the NBA and it wasn't until Bird/Thomas etc that I even cared.
Shoe - $12k is a shitload of money. I don't care how much anyone on here gambles and wins or loses - that is still a decent chunk of change to lose on this kind of dodgy crap.
Of course, I'll continue to dump my cash on these games but I'd just like it to be known that if I wanted to bet on dodgy crap, I'd try to get Randy Savage out of retirement. My kind of guy and at least they're somewhat upfront about what you're buying into.

As much as Stern has his faults and everyone here loves to criticize him, they guy is single-handily responsible for saving basketball and making it as successful as it is now.
PS- I don't know how you can talk NBA conspiracy theories without mentioning the Lakers/Kings playoff game (game 6 I believe?).

Williams - at first I thought your pic was the one of Kobe with the scarf on his head in the LA Times yesterday.
NO MORE NBA. (after the playoffs)

We have known for sometime there were problems in the "Association" but many here still don't want to admit it. After 11 yrs of gambling and watching all major sports since the mid 1980's I will let anybody know that the NBA takes the cake for dishonesty. I am not a losing gambler saying this either and the NBA is my best sport, but I have seen countless things that all add up. It it what it is. The game only survives for us gamblers. Without gambling the NBA would be instinct by now. So don't hate Stern he is helping us out. The average non-gambling viewing public is very, very small. I will just say it. As far as viewing goes the NBA is the worst game to watch to the average non-gambling American.
between this suns/spurs game and the infamous lakers/kings 2002 game 6 how can there
even be any questions about the "Association" and the "company men"

I know what you are trying to say here but lets be realistic. The stunt he pulled in the video is the type of techniques he used to help his league. Also the entry of Magic Johnson and Larry Bird saved the NBA as there great duels in the mid - late 80's gave the NBA the audience it so craved and then Jordan took it to another level with his great run.

Because a lot of games are fixed, and if you can get on the right side of that fix, you're golden.

Would there be as many squares to take money from if there was no David Stern???
