ok so quite a few people have messaged me and asked me to make my own thread for ball which I've been too lazy too do. Well here it is. I don't keep a record, which also requires too much effort, but my record for nba this season is probably somewhere between 60-70 percent. Let the discussion begin.

I probably will rarely check this thread because I like discussing in the LakerBoy thread. peace

Mental Notes to self:

Lakers key to success/domination:
- Artest must come out with a playoff intensity as he did in last years early games in the postseason, not only defend, but he must knock down the open threes, because he will have plenty of opportunities
- Bryant must be aggressive, and get to the line 8+ times.
- Bynum (if he plays)/Gasol must be an early presence on the boards, but Bynum is likely to see limited minutes coming off an injury and the fact that the Thunder play green at the 4 who does the majority of his damage on the perimeter. Odom will see the majority of playing time at the 4.
- Trap Durant if he receives the ball with 10+ seconds on the shot clock and force the ball out of his hands to prevent the likelyhood of him getting the ball back and taking a high percentage 1 on 1 shot.
- The Lakers bench duo of Shannon Brown and Farmer must show open to pick up the slack. Brown must stay disciplined defensively on Westbrook.
- Gasol must take advantage of Ibaka/Kristic/Collison who are all far less skilled/talented
- The Lakers must make this the "statement game" of the series, and try and show OKC that they do not belong on the same court with them, try and deprive them of any confidence going forward

Thunder Keys to Success/Keeping a close ballgame
- OKC is running purely on adrenaline right now, seeing that this is the majority of their players first time in the playoffs. They're all very excited, and will come out with the same intensity they played with throughout the season. The "mental" aspect is not a factor at this point; OKC is not feeling any pressure right now, because nothing is expected of them; they won't realize the magnitude of the playoffs until they reach the latter part of this series (note that this lack of thinking may be a good thing for the thunder).

- Durant must not dominate the ball; he must move without the ball and find easy buckets off screens
- Westbrook must take advantage of Fisher/Brown/Farmar- this will be the biggest mismatch of the series
- Sephelosha must force Kobe into tough jumpshots/1 point per shot.
- Must turn the ball over less than 10 times
- Must not give up more than 10 offensive rebounds
- Young guns Harden, Maynor off the bench must not settle for contested threes

Great job Goat! Haven't had time to look through all of LB's thread yet but I'm hoping the guys who took LA covered or won. Glad I didn't jump on that one though - when I went to bed the line was -8 here and I think I would've had a fit worrying I'd get hit by a point.
