Phil Jackson told the LA Times that he wanted the Lakers to play hard, but that he wouldn't show his whole hand. This team cares about getting ready for the playoffs, not about winning in Denver.

If the Lakers lose this game (or finish with a worse/tied record w/ Orlando), they will give homecourt advantage to Orlando Magic in the NBA finals if both reach it. Cle already has that advantage over LA as well.

Just something to consider before you say "they won't be playing hard." Additionally, LA and Kobe do not want to give Denver anymore confidence that they'll be able to beat them in a 7 game series. They will play hard tomrrow.

good point, OKC almost had Denver but they shut down in the last minutes due to OT fatigue from the Utah game. All Lakers have to do is show up and this is should be a win.

Everyone seems to be thinking the same thing, which is fade the Lakers since they will not be playing hard. So you know what that means.... take the Lakers. They have three more games after tomorrow - plenty of time to rest players. I'm willing to bet they want to show Denver who's on top. Also, Denver played tonight.

The best play is probably a no play, but how can you not take the lakers in this spot? Nuggets have beaten them by double digits this season at times when there was no locked up seeds or homecourt and both teams playing hard. Now, when realistically it does matter some for the lakers, but everyone seems to think they dont care makes it a perfect spot to make nuggets a small home favorite and get the public jumping on Denver. Lakers win by 10. GL

Wait for half time. Lakers usually come out slow.. The past few games 2nd half line for lakers has been better than any full game cause they were down.. But then again they didn't cover those games

Carmello got a concussion last night so he should be a little banged up. Nuggets played a tough game last night and now have to travel back to Mile High so they are gonna be a little spent. Lakers have been in Denver since yesterday just waiting to pounce. The biggest factor I don't think anybody has mentioned is the effects of the b2b on Denver coming from sea level up to the altitude of Denver. I know Denver should be able to deal better than most teams since its their HC but still, this will be a major disadvantage for them. Denver is also think in the paint and without their coach, I think the Lakers are the play.
