Due to my just checking the season that pippen played WITHOUT jordan on the team, I am going to do a 180 and say that pippen was a very good player, but not a top 50 of all time. Yes defensively he was very good.

Pippen was better than I perceived him to be now that I look at the stats without jordan. Thanks for the wakeup. But still not top 50.

There are many who will say he was the second best player of the 90s behind Jordan. The guy was a physical freak.

The point is Lebron hasn't had anywhere near that caliber as a teammate. He does have a much improved supporting cast this year though.

PS - Bill Simmons ranked Pippen 24th in his new basketball book.

Mo williams was an all star right? So was Jamison, Shaq won how many titles and is a top 15 player of all time. Cavs are littered with 3 point shooters, Jordan had only 1, Paxson and then Kerr.

Lebron this year has a better cast than Jordan ever did in one season. Lets see what he does with it.

The Bulls 3rd option was Tony Kukoc, a player on the same level as a Sasha Vujacik (spelling, the guy on the lakers who never plays)

Cavs 3rd option is mo williams, one of the best PG's in the league. Then Shaq as the 4th option when healthy.

I disagree. Jordan had Pippen and Rodman, both of whom are in the top 100 players of all time.

Shaq is clearly on the downside of his career and Mo and Jamison are past allstars, but neither made it this year. In fact, the Cavs were the only top team in the East to only have 1 all-star this year.

The Cavs are a good team this year for sure, but I'm not sure their individual talents matchup against the best Bulls teams.

Kukoc put up 19/7/5 his first year without Jordan. He is MUCH better than Vujacic.

Rodman was a rebounder, thats it. One of the best rebounders for his size of all time, and great defensive player, but Shaq is a rebounder and an offensive threat. Shaq is better now than Rodman was with the Bulls.

No, the Cavs were not the only team this year with only 1 all star.

                  NJ had 0
                  Toronto had 1
                  Miami had 1
                  Chicago 1

                  Washington 0

We will have to agree to disagree because Kukoc was horrible. Is David Lee a great player because he averages 20 a game? No he is just the beneficiary of the system he plays in.

Rodman was the best rebounder ever in the modern game as well as one of the greatest defensive players in history. It's hard to imagine a better role player than him. Kukoc was not horrible, I guarantee you that.

I said the Cavs were the only TOP east team (although I forgot Orlando only got Howard this year). Point being Boston and Atlanta had multiple. Very rarely do you see the top team in the league only have one all-star.

i cannot believe you did not know that pippen played w/out jordan and led chicago to the 2nd round of the playoffs and a loss to eventual finalist ny knicks. pippen earned TONS of respect for what he did that yr in leading the bulls. he was simply awesome that yr and showed his greatness.

Kobe went 8 of 24 today and even worse, 5 of 23 yesterday. Even the best have off-days.

lol at this thread hating on LeBron for missing a couple shots, what a joke. But I guess it's a fact that all great players will be hated for being human beings.

Lebron still got 42/9/7 on his off day 14-31 is a bad shooting night for him.
