CHAZ, I think you are on the right track, but you need to look for actual statistics and trends to really justify a pick like this. Simply quoting playoff implications isn't going to do it. Very simple logic like this is how people get into trouble and end up shocked when Detroit pulls off an upset.

I took the Suns as well, but wouldn't be surprised to see another game like the one they played against the Nets the other night where they were down and the game was close until the closing 2 mins and the Suns pulled out the win and cover. On paper the Suns should blow the Pistons away, but this is the NBA and anything can happen.
