Dallas was never going to be favoured by more than 1 point in this matchup (In practice, the difference between -1 and +1 is almost negligible, really)... Whatever the line opened at, Orlando was going to get pounded by early money as a rested Magic team has a solid edge against the Mavs at home on a B2B.

Now the Spurs are rested and Orlando is on the B2B. As for Parker being out, the team is 9-5 since he got injured. The have a strong bench with the talent to step up and be productive in his place. In short, the Spurs are a better team than the Mavs playing at their respective home arenas.

I'm not saying that the Spurs definitely win this game, but the line is a fair line (I capped it at SAS -3). When you factor in the B2B, the Spurs have the edge in this game.

Can't just say Spurs are the play. an explanation is needed if your going to chose a side. analyze the matchups. this game will come down to the last few possessions most likely. spurs are -3.5 as of now. seems like a no play for me until further examination

I've said this a million times with Orlando -- you just never know, because they jack up so many 3's. They were 14 of 24 tonight and won going away. odds are, law of averages will catch up to them on a B2B and they lose this one by at least 5, but I hate betting for or against a team that is so reliant on the deep ball.

That's not necessarily true about the magic, but even if it were: There is no law of averages (true story) but the law of large numbers wouldn't "fix" itself from one game to another. Maybe from one season to another, but chances are the 'average' would have gone up by then.

Now if there's a law of "if they're on fire one night they can't do anything the next night" I'd be willing to use it to fade the magic...

i don't follow... so if the lady uconn team was favorite by just one point in any one of their games this year you would take the other team because the line was "unrealistic"..?

Magic +3

magic are on a roll, they cruised last night, and i don't think they will be too tired.

Dwight Howard is on top of his game, and i don't believe Tim Duncan will be able to keep up with him on the glass, or offensively.

jameer nelson has looked really solid running the show, and i believe he will continue his solid play. with no tony parker, i believe this is an edge for the magic. Ginobili is coming off back issues, so he will really have to carry the spurs with a great performance if they are to win tonight. Vince Carter is playing well, and again i believe the magic have the edge here.
