I am really liking the Magic for the game and 1st half. I also like the Nuggets 1st quarter.
I am taking the Magic for all the obvious reasons. I think the books are fully aware that Dallas is in a horrible spot to get the win tonight hence Orlando being favored. 63% of the public is on the Magic and the line has gone up accordingly from Magic -1 to Magic -2.5, EXACTLY the kind of movement I wanted to see.
Dallas is on B2B and have struggled all year at home. They did manage to cover the last 2 games at home but I don't think that they will be able to pull off 3 covers vs one of the best if not the best team in the NBA right now, Orlando. The road team has dominated in this series as of late going 4-0 SU and ATS.
Orlando has just been playing better than Dallas. Dallas is 12-15 ATS for the 2H of the season while Orlando is 15-10 ATS. Jameer Nelson is finally back to all-star form and Dwight Howard is still Superman. I think he will dominate tonight with Brendan Haywood on him. I personally think that Orlando has the advantage at every matchup except Dirk/Rashard. The problem with Marion is that he is highly inconsistent hence his last game going 0-6 1 point. Barnes is a much more consistent player, he gets you his 10 points and provides great defense nightly. I think VC has the advantage against Butler as VC has been playing out of his mind lately. Nelson is better than Kidd. Howard and Haywood LOL. Dirk does have the advantage against RaLew but I think RaLew is a great cover against Dirk because of his length, height and quickness. He can go out to the 3 point line and challenge Dirk and always get a hand up in his face.
Magic -1 1st Half LOCKED
Magic -1.5 LOCKED HEAVY
Carmelo and Chauncey shot a combined 6-30 last game, the worst night the tandem has had all year long. I think they come out HOT tonight and build a decent lead after 1. Carmelo Anthony's best opponent so far this year is Portland, he averages 34.3ppg against them.
Denver is not the greatest 1st quarter team but that's only because they turn it on against bad teams late at home and just shut them down second half. Denver has been struggling and they know they will have to come out and play well in the 1st to beat a redhot Portland team. Denver is 3-0 last 3 1st quarters at home vs Portland.
