exactly. tex and i pm alot and have been for months and we chat about everything not just games- but other interests. he knows how i am and i respect him big time. i told him last night to consider the over in okc as it was one of my targeted (for weeks- and lyon can confirm this) plays. he said he found the total a little high and said nothing but today he just said good call but he didnt play it. he has his own way and he wasnt gonna tail just for the sake of it. im tellin you guys one thing no one can make me tail there play- NO ONE. i dont care if you like a play 100000%. if it doesnt fall into my way of doing it im not playing it - good for you if you make 10 k off it- i couldnt care less- ask paco he gave me some nfl winners and wondered why i didnt tail him- im my own man.

Kobe, I promise you... if you really don't feel confident in your plays yet, which is totally cool, take a look through some of the other threads on the forum. Better yet, let Google become your best friend. All of us post our plays in here - it's just that some of us, like myself, don't bet on every single game, every single half, every single over/under.

My units are $500 - that's the amount I feel comfortable with. But because of that, you'll never see me post 5x anything because I just don't. That's not saying I'm not confident with my plays (even though after a day like yesterday I should be extremely nervous lol) but for me to throw $2500 on anything is a big deal. So my plays are relatively small and few each day. I have the amount in my head that I want to make each week in order for me to earn the same as I could working so I can stay home with my baby longer. Once I hit that amount, my unit drops waaaaaaaay down, so I can still gamble and have a good time.

I guess what I'm trying to say is: Research. It's not like I know everything about anything at all. But I look at what's coming up, try to figure out what I can, and stick by my plays unless I get a strong sense somewhere that I've misread something and then I'll rethink the whole thing. You'll get there if you want to. But by any means, doing this most days of the week is neither easy nor is it even enjoyable, even on the days you win because of the stress involved. At least for me - I can't obviously speak for others.

What u guys r all saying makes a lot of sense. When I first came on this forum last year, I ended up over analyzing games too much and it got me in trouble. It's not until I read a post from LB saying that he doesn't look too much in the numbers and bases most his picks on his knowledge of the game. LB, u can correct me if I was wrong on the last statement. One thing I have is a lot of general knowledge of the game and I've been relying more on that recently an have been doing well. I can't thank guys like paco and LB for helping me gain more knowledge about winning in the long run. I don't know where I'm going with this but it's sad that some peeps I here write the things they do after losses. Anyways, I do hope LB and Paco still stick around to help all the good people in this thread. Any thoughts for tomorrow?

Duuuuude - believe me: not a high roller by any means. I just figured out over 20yrs of doing this that that's the number I feel comfortable betting 1x on and I'll still be happy with my win. When my standard unit was $100, I'd find myself betting 4 or 5x because I didn't feel satisfied with the payout and then I'd be betting larger amounts later in the day/night to get to an end dollar amount that left me feeling satisfied.

With my current unit amount, even if I only hit 1.91, I'm happy. And as I said, it goes waaaaaay down near the end of the week if I've made what I want/need to. Sometimes down to $20 or even $10 if I just want to take a punt for the social (read: addict) aspect of it.
