Anyone with any insight on what's up with the Lakers? Am I missing something I should know for the near future because I honestly cannot see how they blew back to back games against clearly inferior teams. Charlotte is OK, but they've peaked already imo.

Any team can have a stinker and throw away a game they shouldn't. But contenders don't do that twice in a row, right?

Realistically speaking, I believe this is nothing more than a small rough patch. I'm just a tad surprised.

yeah they cost me big against the Heat thursday. I think their main problem is not playing defense. Also it seems that Gasol is not giving the effort he usually puts out. I like Bynum's aggressiveness, but as usual, foul trouble seems to eliminate him as a big factor. It's is probably just "small rough patch" as you said.

It happens to the best of them. Even the Cavs, who has the best record right now lost to the Cats, after losing to Denver, and it was an even worse beating (93-110) than this Lakers loss. In fact, the Cavs lost again in their next outing, 3 straight losses. I lost 3 parlays on them too today, cost me $350, I should have stick to my instincts when it comes to a Lakers/Bobcats game.

They will get out of this funk I'm sure, it could be just a rough patch just like you said...

Cost me a 7-team ML tonight, with odds of 8:1.

It's all Phil and his rope-a-dope tactics during the regular season. You see a neutered down version of this team until the playoffs roll around -- especially against inferior competition.

Exactly. This post here speaks volumes! Phil knows what he is doing though. Best believe we see the Lakers A game come playoffs.

I'm aware of fading Lakers ATS vs bad teams. Been doing that allll along. These 9 team parlays are ML only; my thinking is that these defending champs with arguably the best closer in the game, may not feel the need to blow out inferior teams, but they SHOULD have the pride to at least win these type of games...if not both of a b2b, then at least 1.

                  Oh well, I'm wrong!

Yep, Gasol is huge. When he's playing with passion, scowling and all, the Lakers are dangerous. He's been invisible lately. And Artest, who may very well be the most overrated defender at this moment.

A Lakers win in Orlando would set things straight.

no offense, but if you are playing 9-teamer parlays you should expect to loose 99.999999% of the time.... you actually kinda deserve to loose tying that many games together... thats like playing Keno or the lottery

                            ouch, rough break there.

Doesn't get any easier for the Lakers tomorrow either, have to play at Orlando. I think I'll be on them there though, depending on the line. I'd be very surprised to see them drop 3 straight.

Care to tell me what the Lakers record both SU and ATS against Cleveland is this year?

The Lakers have looked old and complacent the last few games to me. The only games they have played with full aggression and energy so far this year were when Kobe was out.
